Ucom’s Green Initiative Reaches Urtsadzor

On November 7, Ucom employees joined the Arevordi NGO and the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) for a tree-planting event held at the Eco-Education Center in Urtsadzor, continuing their collaboration in support of environmental restoration.

This tree-planting effort forms part of a long-term environmental program launched with Ucom’s support earlier this year and set to run through year-end. The initiative aims to plant approximately 10,000 trees across Armenia, supporting ecosystem restoration and biodiversity protection.

Ucom employees also visited the greenhouses where the seedlings are grown, the Wildlife Rescue Center, and learned about the work of forest rangers, as well as the Ucom-supported video surveillance system used to protect wildlife and natural habitats.

“Being a company committed to green values, Ucom places great importance on participating in projects aimed at nature conservation. For us, environmental protection is not just sponsorship or a single event, but an attitude and a conscious choice. When a person plants a tree with their own hands, a genuine connection with nature is formed, along with a sense of responsibility toward the environment. We will continue to support initiatives that contribute to the preservation of Armenia’s nature and the restoration of its ecosystems,” noted Ralph Yirikian, General Director of Ucom.

Forest restoration efforts play a vital role in nature conservation — they help protect endangered tree species, support ecosystem recovery, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and prevent land desertification.
