Միացյալ Նահանգների կենտրոնական հրամանատարությունն հայտարարել է Սիրիայում իրականացված ավիահարվածի մասին, որի արդյունքում ոչնչացվել է «Հուրաս ադ-Դին» իսլամիստական ​​խմբավորման ղեկավարության բարձրաստիճան համակարգողն, ով կապեր է ունեցել նաև «Ալ-Քաիդա» ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության հետ։

Այս մասին ԱՄՆ կենտրոնական հրամանատարությունը հայտնել է X-ի միկրոբլոգում կատարած գրառման միջոցով: 

«Փետրվարի 21-ին ԱՄՆ կենտրոնական հրամանատարության (CENTCOM) ուժերը ճշգրիտ ավիահարված են հասցրել Սիրիայի հյուսիս-արևմուտքում, որի հետևանքով սպանվել է «Ալ-Քաիդայի» հետ կապված «Հուրաս ալ-Դին» ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության բարձրաստիճան ղեկավար Վասիմ Թահսին Բայրաքդարը»,-նշված է գրառման մեջ: 

«Մենք անխնա հետապնդելու և ոչնչացնելու ենք ահաբեկչական սպառնալիքները՝ անկախ դրանց գտնվելու վայրից, որպեսզի պաշտպանենք մեր հայրենիքը և մեր դաշնակիցներին ու գործընկերներին»,-հայտարարել  է ԱՄՆ կենտրոնական հրամանատարության հրամանատար, գեներալ Մայքլ Էրիկ Կուրիլյան:

«Հուրաս ադ-Դին»-ն «Ալ-Քաիդա» ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության ճյուղերից մեկն է, որը գործում է Սիրիայում՝ քարոզելով արմատական ​​իսլամիստական ​​գաղափարախոսությունը։
