Renowned Pianist Hayk Melikyan in South America: A Tribute to Armenian Classics

Honored Artist of Armenia, pianist Hayk Melikyan, is set to perform at the prestigious Solís Concert Hall in Montevideo on June 25, 2024, with the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert will feature the famous Piano Concerto by Aram Khachaturian. The event will be conducted by Alvaro Hakobian, with Hayk Melikyan as the soloist. This concert is dedicated to the memory of Aram Khachaturian.

Following this, the pianist will travel to Buenos Aires to perform at the Beethoven Concert Hall on June 28, 2024. The recital, titled "Armenian Palette," will showcase a range of works by Armenian classical and contemporary composers. The repertoire will include compositions by Komitas, Khachaturian, Babadjanian, Saian, Dellalian, Yolchian, among others.

"These concerts aim to introduce Armenian classical music to the music-loving audiences of Montevideo and Buenos Aires, while also promoting cultural ties and strengthening the friendship between the two South American countries," said the pianist's manager, Alexander Plato Hakobyan.

The concerts are organized and supported by the Municipality of Montevideo, the Organización Multiinstitucional Armenia Del Uruguay, the Zulamian Company, the Embassies of Armenia in Uruguay and Argentina, the Armenian Center of Argentina, the Armenian Apostolic Church, and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia.
