Գիշերվա ժամը 3-ին շունն արթնացրեց իր տիրոջը. Երբ կինը մտավ իր տղայի սենյակ՝ անմիջապես սարսափից քարացավ

Նատալիի ընտանիքը Գլենդել քաղաքից է, առաջին հայացքից չի տարբերվում մնացած ընտանիքներից։ Ամուսիները շատ են սիրում իրար և ունեն 7-ամյա որդի՝ Լյուկը։ Նրանք միշտ ուրախ են և կյանքով լեցուն։
Լյուկը ունի 1-ին աստիճանի շաքարային դիաբետ։ Ծնողները ստիպված են մի քանի ժամը մեկ ստուգել տղայի արյան մեջ շաքարի քանակը։ Դրա բարձր արդյունքների պատճառով տղան կարող է մահանալ։

1. Չնայած ծնողները շատ ուշադիր են, բայց մի անգամ սարսափելի պատահարից նրանց փրկեց իրենց շունը՝ Ջեդայը։
2. Մի գիշեր, երբ բոլորը քնած էին Ջեդայը զգաց, որ տղայի հետ ինչ-որ բան այն չէ։ Շունը անմիջապես արթնացրեց ծնողներին։
3. Ջեդայը հասկացրեց ծնողներին, որ հետևեն իրեն։
4. Մտնելով սենյակ հայրը և մայրը տեսան, որ երեխան հանգիստ քնած է։ Հանգիստ լինելու համար նրանք ստուգեցին երեխայի արյունը։

5. «Երբ ես տեսա ցուցիչները, քիչ էր մնում ուշագնաց լինեի։ Այն ցույց տվեց 58 տոկոս, երբ չպետք է 70-ից պակաս լինի».-հիշում է Դորի Նատալին այդ գիշերը։
6. Երեխային կարողացան փրկել։ Եթե Ջեդայը ժամանակին չարթնացներ ծնողներին, տղան կարող էր այլևս չարթնանալ։
7. Այսպես շնիկը կարողացավ փրկել իր տիրոջ կյանքը։
