Одна чашка листовой зелени может снизить риск развития болезней сердца – исследование

Ежедневное употребление чашки богатых нитратами овощей может значительно снизить риск развития сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний. Об этом сообщают ученые из Университета Эдит Коуэн (ECU).

Они изучили данные более чем 50 000 человек, проживающих в Дании, за которыми наблюдали более 20 лет. Ученые обнаружили, что у людей, которые потребляли овощи, богатые нитратами, систолическое артериальное давление снижалось примерно на 2,5 мм рт. ст.

Ведущий автор доктор Кэтрин Бондонно из Института исследований питания ECU отметила, что питание – определяющий фактор для предотвращения сердечных заболеваний.

«Наши результаты показали, что, просто съедая одну чашку сырых (или полстакана приготовленных) богатых нитратами овощей в день, люди могут значительно снизить риск сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний, - сказала Бондонно. – Наибольшее снижение риска было связано с заболеванием периферических артерий (26%)».
