Ուրց. բուժիչ խոտաբույս, որ հայտնի է դեռ վաղնջական ժամանակներից․ «Փաստ»

Ուրցը (լատիներեն Thymus) շրթածաղկավորների ընտանիքի բազմամյա խոտաբույս է։ Հայտնի է նրա մոտ 150 (այլ տվյալներով՝ 400) տեսակ։ Այդ խոտի մասին առաջին հիշատակումը վերաբերում է մ.թ.ա. 2750 թվականին. այն գրված է եղել շումերների հնագույն սեպագիր սեղանների վրա: Այնտեղ նկարագրված է բուժիչ էլիքսիրի բաղադրատոմս, որը ներառում է տանձ, թուզ և ուրց: Հին եգիպտացիները ուրցն օգտագործել են զմռսման ժամանակ, բացի դա, խորհուրդ է տրվել այն օգտագործել բորոտության և կաթվածի բուժման համար:

Հին Հունաստանում ուրցը խորհրդանշել է շնորհալիություն ու էլեգանտություն, իսկ «ձեզանից ուրցի հոտ է գալիս» հաճոյախոսությունը համարվել է ամենաբարձր գովասանքը: Լոգանք ընդունելուց հետո հույներն իրենց մարմինը մշակել են այդ անուշահոտ բույսի բուրավետ յուղերով: Կանայք ծաղկեպսակ են հյուսել ուրցից՝ համարելով այն պտղաբերության խորհրդանիշ: Ուրցը Հայաստանում ևս շատ տարածված ու ժողովրդի կողմից լայնորեն գործածվող բույս է։ Ամիրդովլաթը նշում է, որ այդ դեղաբույսը առանձին կամ յուղի, գինու, մեղրի ու այլ նյութերի հետ խառնած՝ բացում է օրգանների խցանումները, միզամուղ է, օգնում է դեղնուկին, զորություն է տալիս ուղեղին, ստամոքսին, կերակրի հետ ուտելիս օգնում է ատամնացավին, ասթմային, ուժեղացնում է տեսողությունը, մաքրում շնչուղիները, կանոնավորում է շնչառությունը, դուրս բերում կլոր և տափակ որդերը։ Հունական լեգենդի համաձայն, ուրցը ծնվել է Ելենա Գեղեցկուհու այրվող արցունքներից:

Իսկ Աստվածաշնչյան ավանդությունն ասում է, որ Մարիամ Աստվածածինը ծնել է Հիսուսին ուրցե անկողնում: Եվրոպական առասպելներում փերիները քնում ու պարում են ուրցով ծածկված մահճակալների վրա: Մի հին իռլանդական լեգենդ էլ ասում է, որ եթե մայիսի 1-ի լուսադեմին աչքերը լվանաք ուրցի թփերից հավաքված ցողով, փերի կտեսնեք: Ուրցն այնքան ուժեղ է բուրում, որ թվում է, թե մարգագետնային բոլոր խոտերն են հավաքված մեկ տեղ: Ուրցի (thymus serpyllum) լատինական անվան ծագման առնվազն չորս վարկած կա: Ոմանք դա կապում են thymos բառի հետ, որը նշանակում է ուժ, քաջություն: Միջնադարում հավատում էին, որ ուրցը մարդկանց մեջ ուժ և խիզախություն է սերմանում, և այդ իսկ պատճառով այդ խոտի ցողունը, հաճախ տարբեր զուգորդումներով և մեղուներով շրջապատված, պատկերվել է ասպետական հագուստներին: Մեկ այլ վարկածի համաձայն, հունարեն այս բառը թարգմանվում է որպես կյանքի, ոգու շունչ:

Հին հույները շատ են գնահատել ուրցը: Կիկեոնը ըմպելիք է, որը պատրաստվել է գինու, մեղրի, ալ յուրի և ուրցի խառնուրդից, որի մասին նշված է Հոմերոսի ստեղծագործություններում: Ուրցը խմիչքին տալիս է այրող և բուրավետ հոտ: Այն եղել է Ատտիկայի գյուղացիների սիրված խմիչքը: Ուրցը համարվել է թալիսման ընդդեմ չար ոգիների և բացասական էներգիայի: Այն այրել են սենյակը մաքրելու և կախարդական ծեսեր կատարելու համար: Երրորդ վարկածի համաձայն, ուրցը ասոցացվում է թիո բառի հետ, այն է՝ «զոհ մատուցել»:
