Զեբրի գունավորման գաղտնիքն էլ է բացահայտված

Մենք գիտենք, որ...

Կենդանիները բնության մեջ քողարկվում են գունավորմամբ և աշխատում են ընդունել այն գույնը, որը ունի նրանց շրջապատող աշխարհը: Օրինակ, նապաստակը ձմռանը սպիտակ մորթի է ունենում, որ չերևա ձյան ֆոնին, կամ էլ, ասենք, կոկորդիլոսը կանաչագորշավուն է լինում, ինչպես նրան շրջապատող ջուրն է:

Իրականում միշտ չէ այդպես:

Պարզվում է՝ կան կենդանիներ, որոնց գունավորումը լրիվ հակառակն է, ընդ որում՝ դա ոչ թե նպատակ ունի զգուշացնել մնացածին իր վտանգավորության մասին, ինչպես, ասենք, կրետը, այլ նույնպես անտեսանելի դառնալու համար է: Այդպիսի կենդանու գունավորման տիպիկ օրինակ է զեբրը՝ իր մորթու սև– սպիտակ շերտերով: Տափաստանի դեղնագորշավուն ֆոնի վրա առաջին հայացքից թվում է, թե զեբրն իր վառ արտահայտված իրար հաջորդող սև–սպիտակ շերտավորմամբ խիստ տեսանելի է: Զեբրերի այս սև–սպիտակ գունավորումը յուրահատուկ է յուրաքանչյուր առանձնյակի համար, նույնկերպ, ինչպես մարդու համար՝ մատնահետքը: Զեբրի ձագը այդ գունավորմամբ է ճանաչում իր մորը: Բացի դա, այդ գունավորումը բավականին հաջող պաշտպանում է զեբրին նաև գիշատիչներից և միջատներից: Ավստրալիայի Կվիսլենդի և Լոնդոնի համալսարանների գիտնականները հետազոտություններ են կատարել՝ ստեղծելով զեբրի համակարգչային մոդել և հայտնաբերել, որ սև –սպիտակ շերտավոր նկարը շփոթեցնում է գիշատիչներին և արյունածուծ միջատներին: Դեռևս 20– րդ դարից հայտնի էր, որ կա քողարկման Dazzle camouflage կոչվող ձև՝ տարբեր երկարության և լայնության անկանոն գունավոր շերտերով ներկված ռազմական տեխնիկան քողարկվում է, քանի որ հակառակորդը չի կարողանում աչքաչափով որոշել այդ օբյեկտի չափերը, ձևը, շարժման ուղղությունը, արագությունը և այլն (Razzle Dazzle անգլերենից թարգմանաբար նշանակում է «խառնաշփոթ»): Նույնը կատարվում է նաև զեբրին նայող գիշատչի հետ, նա շփոթվում է, բացի այդ, զեբրի վառ գունավորումը նաև կուրացնում է նրան, առաջանում են օպտիկական իլ յուզիաներ, և ստացվում է այնպես, որ զեբրը կարծես թե «անտեսանելի» է դառնում՝ լուծվելով տափաստանի գորշ ֆոնի վրա: Բացի այդ, գիշատիչը հարձակվելուց առաջ պետք է գնահատի զոհի չափերը, հեռավորությունը և որոշի իր շարժման արագությունը, իսկ շարժվող զեբրի դեպքում դա համարյա անհնար է՝ լայն շերտեր կողերին, նեղ շերտեր՝ վզին և մեջքին, և այդ ամենը շարժվում է, որը և ապակողմնորոշում է նայողին: Նույն բարդություններին են հանդիպում նաև արյունածուծ միջատները: Միջատները իրենց ցանցային տեսողության առանձնահատկության պատճառով շատ դժվարությամբ են տարբերակում տարբեր գունավորման շերտերը, նրանք չգիտեն, թե որ գույնի վրա նստեն, որոշել են սպիտակի վրա, բայց շարժվող զեբրի դեպքում այն անմիջապես սևի է փոխվում, իսկ մոտ տարածքից արդեն զեբրը նրանց համար վերածվում է լղոզված հետքի: Զեբրի նման պաշտպանական գունային պատկեր ունեցող այլ կենդանիներ ևս կան, օրինակ՝ զեբրային ձուկը կամ էլ դեղնաշրթունք հարթապոչ օձը և այլն:

Ի դեպ, հավերժական հարցը, թե որն է սկզբից եղել՝ հավը, թե ձուն, միակը չէ: Նման հարց է նաև այն, թե ինչ է զեբրը. «սև շերտերով սպիտակ ձի», թե «սպիտակ շերտերով սև ձի»: Փորձեք գուշակել: Իհարկե, գիտնականները այս հավերժական հարցն էլ են լուծել: Պարզվում է, որ զեբրը «սև ձի է սպիտակ շերտերով», քանի որ էմբրիոնալ վիճակում սաղմը ունենում է մուգ մաշկային ծածկույթ, իսկ զարգացման ավելի ուշ փուլերում առաջանում են սպիտակ շերտեր:
