Ամուսինը փորձեց ստուգել կնոջ հավատարմությունը․ այն ինչ եղավ արդյունքում՝ շատ ծիծաղելի է

Մի տղամարդ, որոշեց փորձել, թե արդյո՞ք իր կինը սիրում է իրեն ու մի երկտող գրեց, որում ասում էր, որ իբր լքում է կնոջը և հեռանում։ Նա երկտողը թողեց կողապահարանի վրա, իսկ ինքը թաքնվեց մահճակալի տակ՝ սպասելով կնոջ գալուստին։

Ամուսինն իհարկե հասկանում էր, որ դա մանկամիտ քայլ է, բայց նա վստահ էր, որ պետք է իմանա, թե ինչ է իրականում զգում իր կինը, քանզի վերջին շրջանում իրենց հարաբերություններում պաղություն է զգում։ Նա հույս ուներ լսել, թե ինչքան կհուզվի իր կինը ու ոնց կսկսի զանգահարել իրենց ծանոթներին․․․

Երբ կինը վերջապես վերադարձավ տուն, նա միանգամից տեսավ երկտողն ու կարդաց այն։ Մի քանի րոպե տևած լռությունից հետո, նա վերրցրեց գրիչը ու ինչ-որ բան գրեց նամակի վրա։ Հետո նա ինչ-որ ուրախ երգ երգելով ու պարելով՝ զգեստափոխվեց ու այնպիսի տպավորություն էր, որ նա ավելի շուտ երջանիկ է, քան ճնշված ու դժբախտ։ Ամուսինը շոկի մեջ էր, բայց ամեն ինչ ավելի ու ավելի վատ էր դառնում։

Կինը վերցրեց հեռախոսը ու ինչ-որ համարով զանգահարեց։ Ամուսինը լարեց լսողությունը, որպեսզի լսի, թե ում հետ և ինչ է խոսելու կինը․

— Բարև սիրելիս։ Ես արդեն պատրաստվում եմ գալ քեզ մոտ։ Ինչ վերաբերում է այդ հիմարին, ապա ես վերջապես հասցրեցի նրան այն աստիճանի, որ նա հեռացել է ինձանից։ Ու ինչպե՞ս կարող էի ես ամուսնանալ դրա հետ։ Ափսոս, որ մենք իրար հետ ավելի վաղ չէին ծանոթացել։ Դե կտեսնվենք, սիրելիս։
Նա անջատեց հեռախոսը ու դուրս եկավ սենյակից։ Մի որոշ ժամանակ անց, ամուսինը լսեց, թե ինչպես բացվեց ու փակվեց դրսի դուռն ու կինը գնաց․․․

Հուզված ու արցունքոտ աչքերով, նա դուրս եկավ մահճակալի տակից ու իրեն գցեց երկտողի մոտ, որպեսզի տեսնի, թե ինչ է գրել կինը։ Թաց աչքերով նա կարդաց հետևյալ տողերը․

«Ես տեսնում եմ մահճակալի տակից դուրս եկող քո ոտքերը։ Ես գնացի խանութ՝ հաց առնելու»։
