AraratBank: Financial Partner of Théâtron Festival

On October 22, the Théâtron Francophone International Festival of Performing Arts kicked off in Armenia. The festival will be hosted in Yerevan, Kapan, Goris, and Gavar, and will run until November 3.

Dance, performance art, and dramaturgy form the core of the festival. Armenia has welcomed world-renowned Francophone choreographers and playwrights.

Education and culture lie at the heart of AraratBank corporate social responsibility efforts. Alongside this, the bank is ready to support initiatives that bring joy and smiles to children overcoming difficult phases of life.

As part of the festival, thanks to the financial support from AraratBank, a performance will take place at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center featuring clowns from the Swiss theater troupe La Temeraria, which specializes in staging performances for hospitalized children. The Swiss clowns will also perform for children at the Loft and the Children's Rehabilitation Center in Goris.

“Our aim is to strengthen ties between Armenian and Francophone cultural institutions, promote the circulation of creative works, and forge new, sustainable and long-term partnerships. The festival presents Francophonie as a vibrant creative space, where cultural diversity fosters the formation and promotion of intercultural dialogue. Joining the Théâtron festival means becoming part of a collective experience, where art becomes a platform for memory, dialogue, and new projects, with Armenia affirming its role and relevance in the international cultural landscape,” notes Saté Khachatryan, Co-founder and Director of the Théâtron festival.

“Constant commitment to social responsibility and addressing pressing social issues through the implementation of cultural programs have always been at the forefront of AraratBank’s agenda. We place particular importance on initiatives aimed at supporting children, especially those facing health challenges. We believe that performing arts have healing power and can improve the lives of children facing health issues,” says Anna Allahverdyan, Head of Communication and CSR Programs Coordination Division at AraratBank.

The idea of the Théâtron festival arose out of the desire to make Armenia an important cultural crossroads for the Francophone world. Seeking to create a platform for cultural encounters and dialogue, it unites diverse branches of art, such as theater, dance, music and performance, while dedicating a special place to dramaturgy and creative residencies that will promote international dialogue and innovation.

Тhis unique cultural event is organized by the Art-Image cultural NGO and the French Saté-Âtre theater association.

The festival is also supported by the Embassy of the French Republic in Armenia and the French Institute, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Armenia, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region of France, the Isère Department, the city of Lyon and the Metropolis of Lyon, the cities of Marseille, Grenoble and Saint-Etienne, Wallonia-Brussels International, as well as the municipalities of Kapan and Gavar.

The festival is held under the general sponsorship of the Yerevan Municipality and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

AraratBank is regulated by the Central Bank of Armenia.
