Dekavva Foundation Signs Partnership Agreement with Gegharkunik Regional Administration

The Dekavva Charitable Foundation and the Gegharkunik Regional Administration of the Republic of Armenia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish "Harehas" educational centers.

The agreement aims to ensure sustainable expansion of the "Harehas" program throughout Gegharkunik region, focusing on women's education and entrepreneurship to improve quality of life and foster development in rural communities.

"Harehas" is a six-year social-educational strategy by Dekavva Foundation that aims to establish 40 educational centers across Armenian villages, serving over 3,000 women and families.

The program seeks to transform Armenia's rural communities socially and economically by empowering women and families through education, entrepreneurship, and community development initiatives.

"Signing this Memorandum of Understanding with the Gegharkunik Regional Administration marks an important milestone in implementing the “Harehas” program. We are grateful to the regional administration for this partnership and believe it will significantly contribute to rural community development and women's economic empowerment in Gegharkunik region," said Adrianna Marutyan, Executive Director of the Dekavva Foundation.

The program focuses on four key areas: education and capacity building, local entrepreneurship and economic development, improvement of the community infrastructure, and rural tourism and social entrepreneurship.

Implementation will span five regions: Gegharkunik, Shirak, and Syunik will each engage 10 villages, while Tavush and Vayots Dzor will each engage 5 villages.

Over six years, the program expects to engage more than 40 villages, train over 3,000 women and families, launch more than 176 local business projects, establish over 40 educational centers, and ensure over 400 new employment opportunities.
