Շնչառական վիրուսները կարող են ակտիվացնել թոքերում քնած բջիջները. Nature

Շնչառական վիրուսային վարակները, այդ թվում՝ COVID-19-ը և գրիպը, կարող են ակտիվացնել կրծքագեղձի քնած քաղցկեղի բջիջները և մետաստազների զարգացում առաջացնել: Այս եզրակացությանն են հանգել Կոլորադոյի համալսարանի Անշուտցի բժշկական կենտրոնի և Մոնտեֆիորե Այնշտայնի քաղցկեղի կենտրոնի (MECC) գիտնականները: Աշխատանքը հրապարակվել է Nature ամսագրում:

Հետազոտողները պարզել են, որ վիրուսային վարակի պատճառած բորբոքումը կարող է արթնացնել այսպես կոչված տարածված քաղցկեղի բջիջները (ԴՔԲ): ԴՔԲ-ները կարող են առանձնանալ առաջնային ուռուցքից և մնալ «քնած» վիճակում հյուսվածքներում, ինչպիսիք են թոքերը: Դրանք կարող են տարիներ շարունակ մնալ անգործուն, բայց որոշակի պայմաններում դրանք առաջացնում են ուռուցքի վերաաճ:

Գիտնականները փորձարկել են այս վարկածը մկների մոտ մետաստատիկ քաղցկեղի լաբորատոր մոդելներում: SARS-CoV-2-ով կամ գրիպի վիրուսով վարակվելուց հետո կենդանիները երկու շաբաթվա ընթացքում թոքերում քնած բջիջների արագ արթնացում և նոր մետաստազների առաջացում են ունեցել:

Պարզվել է, որ ակտիվացման հիմնական մեխանիզմը ինտերլեյկին-6-ն է (IL-6), սպիտակուց, որը արտազատվում է իմունային համակարգի կողմից՝ վարակի նկատմամբ ի պատասխան: Հեղինակների խոսքով՝ սա բացում է կանխարգելման հեռանկարներ. IL-6 ինհիբիտորները կամ այլ իմունաթերապևտիկ դեղամիջոցները կարող են օգնել կանխել կրկնակի մետաստազավորումը։

Գիտնականները լրացուցիչ վերլուծել են խոշոր բժշկական տվյալների բազաներից, այդ թվում՝ British Biobank-ից ստացված տվյալները։ Նրանք համեմատել են COVID-19 ունեցող կրծքագեղձի քաղցկեղով հիվանդների առողջությունը վերահսկիչ խմբի հետ։ Հաշվարկներից բացառվել են վարակի մահացու ելքերը։ Պարզվել է, որ կորոնավիրուսից ապաքինվածների մոտ քաղցկեղից մահանալու ռիսկը գրեթե կրկնակի մեծ էր։

Հեղինակների խոսքով՝ արդյունքները վկայում են վիրուսային համաճարակների համատեքստում քաղցկեղով հիվանդների համար նոր պաշտպանիչ ռազմավարություններ մշակելու անհրաժեշտության մասին։
