МИД Азербайджана потребовал от ТАСС извиниться за использование названия Степанакерт

Министерство иностранных дел Азербайджана призвало агентство ТАСС принести извинения за то, что в заметке о сносе памятника художнику-маринисту Ивану Айвазовскому в городе Ханкенди было использовано его старое название Степанакерт. Об этом сообщается на сайте ведомства.

В заявлении отмечается, что ждут от агентства соответствующих правок, в ином случае в отношении деятельности ТАСС в республике «будут приняты соответствующие меры».

В ведомстве также предупредили, что если российская сторона продолжит искажать азербайджанские топонимы, то в соответствии с принципом взаимности Азербайджан будет называть различные топонимы в России своими историческими названиями.

Агентство по развитию туризма и культуры Карабаха сообщил, что в Степанакерте был снесен памятник  художнику-маринисту Ивану Айвазовскому.

Памятник Ивану Айвазовскому был установлен в городе в декабре 2021 года. Его автор — Салават Щербаков, который также создал памятник воинам-интернационалистам на Поклонной горе в Москве и увековечил «ряд выдающихся армян».
