Ինչպես նշել է կառավարության ղեկավարը, ընտանեկան արժեքներին, անչափահասների շահերի պաշտպանությանը և թափանցիկությանը վերաբերող օրենքները չափազանց կարևոր են Վրաստանի համար։

«Մենք շատ հստակ պատասխան ունենք Բրյուսելի կողմից ուղարկված յուրաքանչյուր կետի վերաբերյալ։ Ինչ վերաբերում է բանտարկյալներին, մենք ունենք հստակ պատասխան. նրանցից յուրաքանչյուրը կատարել է կոնկրետ հանցագործություն։ Թող սկսեն խոսել էության մասին։ Խնդրում եմ, թող ներկայացնեն իրավական փաստարկներ, եթե այս գործերի վերաբերյալ իրավական հարցեր ունեն։ Իհարկե, նման հարցեր չկան։ Հետևաբար, մենք գործ ունենք դատարկ քաղաքական վերջնագրերի հետ, ինչը շատ տխուր է», - ասաց վարչապետը։

Ավելի վաղ ԵՄ արտաքին գործերի գերագույն ներկայացուցիչ Կայա Կալլասը բացահայտել էր Վրաստանին ուղղված նամակի մանրամասները։ Փաստաթուղթը պարունակում է 9 հիմնական առաջարկություն, որոնց իրականացումը նախատեսվում է մինչև օգոստոսի վերջ։ Պահանջների թվում են մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանությունը, հավաքների և խոսքի ազատությունը, քաղաքացիների մասնակցությունը հասարակական կյանքին և խտրականության արգելքը։

Կալլասը շեշտել էր, որ եթե Վրաստանի իշխանությունները անտեսեն այս պարտավորությունները, հետևանքներ կլինեն, այդ թվում՝ 2017 թվականից գործող առանցի վիզայի ռեժիմի հնարավոր վերանայում։ «Սա ԵՄ-ի նկատմամբ վստահության հարց է։ Եթե երկիրը բոնուս է ստանում, բայց չի կատարում պայմանները, դա անպատասխան չի մնա», - ասել էր Կալլասը։
