ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարի փոփոխությունն այս ամիս կարող է անդրադառնալ արեւմտյան երկրների՝ Ուկրաինա զենքի մատակարարումը համակարգող խմբի աշխատանքի վրա։ Այս մասին գրել է Politico թերթը։

Ինչպես նշել է պարբերականը, Պենտագոնի ղեկավար Լլոյդ Օսթինը Գերմանիայում է դաշնակիցների հետ իր վերջին հանդիպմանը՝ Կիեւին օգնություն տրամադրելու նպատակով։ «Հաջորդ անգամ, երբ խումբը հավաքվի, ամեն ինչ լրիվ այլ տեսք կունենա, եթե ընդհանրապես հավաքվի»,- գրել է թերթը։

«Երբ այս ամիս Օսթինը հեռանա Պենտագոնից, խումբը կկորցնի իր ամենամեծ ոգեւորողին եւ հիմնադրին, եւ ոչ մի այլ երկիր չի առաջարկել ստանձնել գլխավոր դերը»,- նշվել է հրապարակման մեջ: «Սա հատկապես անհանգիստ ժամանակաշրջան է, քանի որ [նորընտիր նախագահ Դոնալդ] Թրամփի վարչակազմը թերահավատություն է հայտնում Ուկրաինային տրամադրվող օգնության վերաբերյալ, իսկ եվրոպական ծայրահեղ աջակողմյան նոր կառավարությունները ավելի քիչ հետաքրքրություն են ցուցաբերում Կիեւ ավելի շատ զենք ուղարկելու հարցում»,- ասել է Politico-ն:

«Խմբի լուծարումը կարող է հարված լինել Ուկրաինային, որը կորցնում է դիրքերը Ռուսաստանի հետ պայքարում եւ նոր զինվորներ հավաքագրելու եւ պատրաստելու հարցում»,- նշվել է հոդվածում: Միեւնույն ժամանակ, թերթը, վկայակոչելով ՆԱՏՕ ներկայացուցիչներին, գրել է, որ խումբը կկարողանա գործել առանց Օսթինի, «թեեւ մի փոքր այլ ձեւով»։ Ինչպես գրել է պարբերականը, «Մեծ Բրիտանիան, որը հյուրընկալել է դաշնակիցների առաջին հանդիպումները, եւ Գերմանիան՝ որպես Ուկրաինա [զենքի] հիմնական մատակարար, գլխավորում են պոտենցիալ առաջնորդների ցուցակը»։

Սակայն Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքում պարբերականի աղբյուրները նշել են, որ «եվրոպացի պաշտոնյաները, նախքան որեւէ քայլ ձեռնարկելը, ցանկանում են տեսնել, թե Պենտագոնի նոր ղեկավարը ինչ տեղ կզբաղեցնի այս խմբում»։

Հունվարի 9-ին Գերմանիայի Ռամշթեյն ավիաբազայում կկայանա Ուկրաինա սպառազինությունների մատակարարումը համակարգող արեւմտյան երկրների խմբի 25-րդ նիստը։ Ավելի վաղ ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարության բարձրաստիճան ներկայացուցիչը հայտնել էր, որ արեւմտյան երկրները Ուկրաինայում Ռուսաստանի հատուկ ռազմական գործողության սկզբից ի վեր պարտավորվել են Կիեւին տրամադրել 126 մլրդ դոլարի ռազմական օգնություն։
