Այսօր թեյի միջազգային օրն է

Թեյի միջազգային օրը (անգլ.՝ International Tea Day) ոչ պաշտոնական տոն է, որը նշվում է ամեն տարի դեկտեմբերի 15-ին Կրթական և հասարակական կենտրոնի նախաձեռնությամբ։ Ոչ աշխատանքային օր չի հանդիսանում։

«Թեյի միջազգային օրը» համեմատաբար երիտասարդ տոն է։

«Թեյի օր» նշելու գաղափարը սավառնում էր օդում շատ տարիներ, սակայն միայն հնդկական Մումբայում և բրազիլական Պորտու Ալեգրիում միջազգային հասարակական ֆորումներում (անգլ.՝ World Social Forum) քննարկումներից հետո (Կրթական և հասարակական կենտրոնի (անգլ.՝ Centre for Education and Communication) տեսքով) համապատասխանաբար 2004 և 2005 թվականներին «դեկտեմբերի 15» ամսաթիվն սկսեց անվանվել «Թեյի միջազգային օր»։

«Թեյի միջազգային օր» նշելու նպատակը հասարակության և քաղաքական գործիչների ուշադրության հրավիրումն էր թեյի առևտրի խնդիրներին, թեյի արտադրությամբ զբաղվող աշխատողների դիրքին, դժվարություններին, որոնք ծագում են մանր արտադրողների և մեծ ընկերությունների պայքարում, ինչպես նաև այս ըմպելիքի աշխարհում տարածմանը։ Երևի այն պատճառով, որ տոնի նպատակները ունեն սոցիալական բնույթ, ամսաթիվն ընկավ դեկտեմբերի 15-ին, որը պարզ ցույց է տալիս, որ թեյարտադրության բնագավառը ստիպված էր պայքարել շատ խնդիրների դեմ, որը Բոստոնյան թեյախմության նման պետք էր լուծել այդ պահին։ Նաև դեկտեմբերի 15-ին էր ընդունվել «Թեյի մշակման ոլորտում աշխատողների իրավունքների միջազգային դեկլարացիան» ։

«Թեյի միջազգային օրը» լայնորեն նշվում է Հնդկաստանում, Շրի Լանկայու, սակայն այնպիսի երկրներ, ինչպիսիք են Բանգլադեշը, Նեպալը, Ինդոնեզիան, Մալայզիան, Ուգանդան և Տանզանիան, լինելով թեյի միջազգային արդյունաբերողներ, անմասն չեն մնում այդ տոնից։

«Թեյի միջազգային օրը» սկսել են նշալ նաև Ռուսաստանում, որտեղ թեյը հանդիսանում է ամենաճանաչված ըմպելիքներից մեկը։ Սակայն այս օրը ՌԴ-ում նշում են տեղ-տեղ։ Այնպես, 2009 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 11-ին Իրկուտսկում բացվեց «Թեյի ժամանակը» ցուցահանդեսը` տոնի օրվան ընդառաջ։
