Ես չեմ մտաբերում որևէ այլ այցելություն, որտեղ այսքան ջերմ և քաղաքավարի ընդունելության արժանանանք, մենք իսկապես հիացած ենք այս ընդունելությամբ:

Այս մասին ասուլիսի ժամանակ ասաց ԱՄՆ-ից Հայաստան ժամանակ պատվիրակության ղեկավար սենատոր Ռոջեր Ուիքերը:

«Մենք կարծում էինք, որ իրավիճակի վերաբերյալ շատ բան գիտենք, բայց այցը մեզ թույլ տվեց շատ ավելին իմանալ: Այն, ինչ մենք իմացանք, մեկ անգամ ևս հաստատեց, որ դժվարին հարևանության մեջ է գտնվում Հայաստանը, մարտահրավերներ կան բոլոր ուղղություններով: Ռուսաստանը և Իրանը, Չինաստանի և Հյուսիսային Կորեայի հետ միասին ագրեսիվ մոտեցում ունեն աշխարհի այն հատվածի նկատմամբ, որոնք փորձում են ազատ շնչել և ժողովրդավարության մաս կազմել:

Մենք հասկանում ենք, որ Ռուսաստանը շատ է ներգրավված այս տարածքում, Իրանն էլ անմիջապես հարևանությամբ է գտնվում ու երևի թե չէին ցանկանա տեսնել ազատություն, ժողովրդավարություն ու առաջընթաց, որ ունեցել են մեր հայ բարեկամները: Հիմա առավել քան հստակ է, որ Հայաստանը ցանկանում է խաղաղության համաձայնագիր կնքել Ադրբեջանի հետ, ուզում են, որ այն ամբողջականացվի ու ստորագրվի, ղեկավարների շրջանում կա նաև ցանկություն, որ սահմանները վերաբացվեն, որ մարդկանց ազատ տեղաշարժ լինի հարևան Թուրքիայից ու խթանվի տնտեսությունը»,- ասաց նա:

Սենատորը նշեց, որ այդ հարցում ԱՄՆ-ն պատրաստ է տրամադրել աջակցություն:

«Ուզում եմ խոսք հղել մեր ադրբեջանցի գործընկերներին ու ԵԱՀԿ անդամներին՝ զգուշացեք, թե ինչի կարող է հանգեցնել միավորումը Պուտինի Ռուսաստանի հետ, Ադրբեջանում մեր բարեկամներին ուզում եմ մեկ խորհուրդ տալ՝ փորձեք հասկանալ ազատության գինը: Բոլոր նրանք, ովքեր Ադրբեջանում են, զգուշացեք, որ «մեծ արջը» մեկ անգամ ևս չփորձի գերիշխող դիրք զբաղեցնել նախկին խորհրդային հանրապետությունների նկատմամբ»,- ասել է նա:
