ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահ Քամալա Հարիսը, չնայած իր քաղաքական թուլությանը, համարվում է պետության ներկայիս ղեկավար Ջո Բայդենին փոխարինելու ամենահավանական թեկնածուն, եթե վերջինս դուրս գա ընտրապայքարից։ Նման կարծիք է հայտնել The Wall Street Journal-ը (WSJ):

Պարբերականը նկատում է, որ թեև Հարրիսի վարկանիշը նույնքան ցածր է, որքան գործող նախագահինը, նա շարունակում է սիրված մնալ սևամորթ ընտրողների և կանանց շրջանում: Հարիսը նաև զգալի առավելություն ունի մյուս պոտենցիալ դեմոկրատ թեկնածուների նկատմամբ. որպես Բայդենի փոխնախագահի թեկնածու, նա կկարողանա օգտագործել Բայդենի վերընտրման նպատակով դրամահավաքով կուտակված միջոցները՝ սեփական քարոզարշավը ֆինանսավորելու համար, եթե գործող նախագահը որոշի չվերընտրվել:

Հրատարակության համաձայն՝ Հարիսը վերջերս սկսել է նաև ամրապնդել իր դիրքերը Բայդենի վարչակազմում, այդ թվում՝ ազգային անվտանգության հարցերում։ Նա Սպիտակ տան պաշտոնյաներին կոչ է արել ավելի մեծ ուշադրություն դարձնել Գազայի հատվածի հումանիտար խնդիրներին և կենտրոնանալ անկլավում հետկոնֆլիկտային կարգավորման ծրագրի մշակման վրա։

ԱՄՆ նախագահական ընտրությունները տեղի կունենան նոյեմբերի 5-ին։ Թրամփն արդեն ստացել է անհրաժեշտ թվով պատվիրակների ձայներ՝ որպես պետության ղեկավարի հանրապետական թեկնածու առաջադրվելու համար։ Երկրորդ ժամկետի համար պայքարող Բայդենն ապահովել է Դեմոկրատական կուսակցության բավարար թվով պատվիրակների աջակցությունը։ Սակայն Բայդեն-Թրամփ հեռուստաբանավեճում գործող նախագահի անհաջող ելույթից հետո ակտիվացել են նրան այլ թեկնածուով փոխարինելու վերաբերյալ քննարկումները:
