Գիտնականները հայտնաբերել են հերպեսի 50 հազար տարվա վաղեմության վիրուս: Հնարավոր է, որ հենց դա է սպանել նեանդերթալցիներին

Հին ԴՆԹ-ի «հիմնարար ապացույցները» կարող են ցույց տալ, որ Հոմո սապիենսը ոչնչացրել է նեանդերթալցիներին մահացու վարակիչ հիվանդություններով։ Գրել է «Պաթոգենես»-ի հեղինակ և Լոնդոնի՝ Թագուհի Մերի համալսարանի դասախոս Ջոնաթան Քենեդին The Guardian-ի սյունակում:

50 հազար տարեկան նեանդերթալցիների ոսկորներում գիտնականները հայտնաբերել են միանգամից երեք վիրուս՝ ադենովիրուս, հերպեսի վիրուս և պապիլոմավիրուս։ Նրանց հայտնագործությունը կարող է մատնանշել նեանդերթալցիների մահվան այլընտրանքային բացատրությունը՝ մահացու վարակիչ հիվանդությունները, որոնք կրել է Հոմո սապիենսը: Երբ նեանդերթալցիներն Աֆրիկայից իրենց միգրացիայի ժամանակ հանդիպել են Հոմո սապիենսներին, պաթոգենները, որոնք մի տեսակի մոտ անվնաս ախտանիշներ էին առաջացրել, մյուսի մոտ մահացու են եղել:

Homo sapiens-ը գոյատևել է, բայց նեանդերթալցիները անհետացել, քանի որ մարդկային նախնիներն ավելի մոտ են ապրել հասարակածին, որտեղ բույսերի կյանքը ավելի բազմազան է եղել: Սա նշանակում է, որ այնտեղ ավելի շատ միկրոօրգանիզմներ կան, և Homo sapiens-ը կարող է լինել ավելի մահացու պաթոգենների կրող, քան նեանդերթալցիները:

«Եթե ​​վարակիչ հիվանդություններն այդքան կարևոր դեր են խաղացել նեանդերթալցիների անհետացման և հոմոսափիենսների համաշխարհային գերիշխանության բարձրացման գործում, դա նշանակում է, որ պաթոգենները շատ ավելի հզոր են, քան գիտնականները նախկինում ենթադրում էին»,- գրել է փորձագետը։
