Instagram-ը պատրաստվում է լուրջ փոփոխություններ մտցնել իր ալգորիթմում, որն օգտատերերին բովանդակություն է առաջարկում. հավելվածն այժմ ավելի շատ կենտրոնանալու է բնօրինակ բովանդակության վրա՝ պայքարելով այսպես կոչված սերիական վերահրապարակողների դեմ, որոնք պատճենում են այլ օգտատերերի նյութերն առանց համապատասխան հղման։ Բացի դրանից՝ հավելվածն ընդլայնելու է փոքր օգտահաշիվների լսարանը:

Փոփոխությունները հիմնականում կվերաբերեն այն օգտահաշիվներին, որոնք վերահրապարակում են այլ օգտատերերի նյութերը: Երբեմն նման ագրեգատորները նշում են, թե ով է հրապարակված բովանդակության հեղինակը, սակայն նյութն ինքնին հաճախ պատճենվում է առանց որևէ հաստատման: Կրկին հրապարակված բովանդակությունն այժմ կհեռացվի հարթակի առաջարկվող նյութերի էջից:
