Իսրայելը կընդլայնի իր ռազմական գործողությունները Գազայի հատվածում մինչև հարավային Ռաֆահ քաղաք, եթե արմատականների կողմից պատանդները ազատ չարձակվեն մինչև մարտի առաջին տասնօրյակի վերջը և Ռամադանի սկիզբը։ Այս նախազգուշացումն արել է Իսրայելի պաշտպանության նախարար Բենի Գանցը կիրակի օրը՝ ելույթ ունենալով Երուսաղեմում ԱՄՆ հրեական կազմակերպությունների ղեկավարության համաժողովում, փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

«Աշխարհը պետք է իմանա, և ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի առաջնորդները պետք է իմանան, որ եթե մինչև Ռամադան մեր պատանդները տանը չլինեն, մարտերը կշարունակվեն ամենուր, այդ թվում՝ Ռաֆահի շրջանում: Մենք դա կանենք համակարգված կերպով՝ հեշտացնելով խաղաղ բնակիչների տարհանումը մեր ամերիկացի և եգիպտացի գործընկերների հետ երկխոսության միջոցով՝ նվազագույնի հասցնելով քաղաքացիական զոհերը», - ասել է Գանցը՝ պաշտպանության նախարարության նախկին ղեկավարը և իսրայելական բանակի շտաբի պետը:

Գանցը նաև հավելել է. «Նրանց, ովքեր ասում են, որ (Ռաֆահի հարձակման) արժեքը չափազանց բարձր է, ես շատ հստակ ասում եմ, որ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը ընտրություն ունի»:

Ռամադանը, արաբ աստղագետների կարծիքով, ընկնում է 2024 թվականին մարտի 11-ից ապրիլի 9-ը:
