«Այս տարին իսկապես ծանր էր, ոչ ոք չէր սպասում, որ նման իրադարձություններ տեղի կունենան։ Մենք չգիտենք, թե որքան արագ իրավիճակը կհանգուցալուծվի։ Ռուբենից էական նորություններ չկան։ Շաբաթը մեկ անգամ մեզ թույլ են տալիս շատ կարճ հեռախոսով խոսել։ Մեզ մտահոգում է, որ միջազգային փաստաբաններին իր մոտ չեն թողնում»,- «Մեդիամաքս»-ին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է սոցիալական ձեռներեց, Արցախի նախկին պետական նախարար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի կինը՝ Վերոնիկա Զոնաբենդին։

Նա նշել է՝ կարոտում են Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի հետ շփումը։

«Այս շաբաթ կլրանա Ռուբենի կալանավորման երեք ամիսը։ Երեխաները տոկունությամբ դիմանում են այս իրավիճակին, իրենց պարտքն են համարում նեցուկ լինել միմյանց և ինձ: Այս ընթացքում նրանք ավելի են հասունացել»,-ասել է Վերոնիկա Զոնաբենդին։

Անդրադառնալով Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի կողմից ղեկավարվող է բազմաթիվ սոցիալական նախագծերի և նախաձեռնությունների շարունակմանը, Վարդանյանի կինն ասել է.

«Իհարկե, առանց Ռուբենի դժվար է, բայց միևնույն ժամանակ, մեր նախաձեռնությունները շարունակելու անհրաժեշտությունը մեզ համար հենման կետ է դարձել։ Մեզ համար կարևոր է, որ մեր համատեղ նախաձեռնած նախագծերը ապրեն և զարգանան։ Շատ մարդիկ են մեզանից կախված, և մենք պահպանում ենք մեր գործունեությունն այն ծավալով, որքանով ներկայում թույլ են տալիս հանգամանքները: Դա մոտիվացնում և ուժ է տալիս։ Թեև վերջին երկու տարվա ընթացքում մեր կյանքում և աշխարհում շատ բան է տեղի ունեցել, սակայն մեր նախագծերը չեն դադարում, քանի որ դրանք երկարաժամկետ են, դրանց հորիզոնը 20-25 տարի է։ Օրինակ, UWC Dilijan քոլեջը բացվել է 2014 թվականին, իսկ նախագծի իրականացումը սկսել էինք ավելի վաղ, հասկանալով, որ առաջին արդյունքները կարող ենք տեսնել միայն 10-15 տարի հետո։ Եվ միայն հիմա դրանք նկատելի են դառնում»։
