Սենթ Լուիսի Վաշինգտոնի համալսարանի բժշկական դպրոցի գիտնականները պարզել են, որ սեզոնային գրիպով հոսպիտալացված մարդկանց մոտ վիրուսը կարող է երկարատև և վտանգավոր առողջական հետևանքներ առաջացնել, որոնք նման են երկարատև COVID-ին կամ հետկովիդային համախտանիշին: Հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են The Lancet Infectious Diseases ամսագրում:

Փորձագետները վերլուծել են 2020 թվականի մարտի 1-ից մինչև 2022 թվականի հունիսի 30-ը ընկած ժամանակահատվածում COVID-19-ի պատճառով հոսպիտալացված 81,280 հիվանդի տվյալները, ինչպես նաև 2015 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 1-ից մինչև 2019 թվականի փետրվարի 28-ը սեզոնային գրիպի պատճառով հոսպիտալացված 10,985 հիվանդի տվյալները:

Գրիպի և COVID-19-ի պատճառող վիրուսները համեմատող ուսումնասիրությունը ցույց է տվել, որ վարակվելուց հետո 18 ամսվա ընթացքում այս հիվանդություններով բուժառուները բախվում են մահվան, հետընդունման և բազմահամակարգային օրգանների դիսֆունկցիայի ռիսկի: Բացի այդ, ամենամեծ ռիսկի ժամանակը եղել է վարակի սկզբից 30 օր կամ ավելի ուշ:

Հատկանշական բացառությունն այն է, որ գրիպի վիրուսն ավելի լուրջ վտանգ է ներկայացնում շնչառական համակարգի համար, քան կորոնավիրուսը։ Այսպիսով, գրիպի հարուցիչը շնչառական վիրուսն է, մինչդեռ SARS-CoV-2-ն ավելի ագրեսիվ է, քանի որ կարող է ազդել ցանկացած օրգան համակարգի և առաջացնել սրտի, ուղեղի, երիկամների և այլ օրգանների անբավարարություն։
