Փետրվարի 22-ին, ժամը 03.00-ին, շտապօգնության կայանից ոստիկանության Գորիսի բաժին հաղորդում էր ստացվել, որ կանչով մեկնել են Խնձորեսկ գյուղի տներից մեկը՝ բուժօգնություն ցույց տալու 49-ամյա տղամարդուն, սակայն նա եղել է մահացած: Բաժնից նշված հասցե օպերատիվ խումբ է մեկնել: Տան անդամները հայտնել են, որ նրա ինքնազգացողությունը կտրուկ վատացել է, և նա հանկարծամահ է եղել:

Փաստով Գորիսի քննչական բաժնում ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 155-րդ հոդվածի 1-ին մասի հատկանիշներով քրեական վարույթ է նախաձեռնվել:
Գորիսի բաժնի քրեական հետախույզների ձեռնարկած միջոցառումների շնորհիվ պարզվել է, որ փետրվարի 22-ի ժամը 17.00-ի սահմաններում Խնձորեսկ բնակավայրի վարչական տարածքի անասնագոմում կենցաղային հարցերի շուրջ վիճաբանել են 49-ամյա տղամարդն ու 23-ամյա խնձորեսկցի երիտասարդը: Երիտասարդը հրել գցել է 49-ամյա տղամարդուն, ինչի հետևանքով նա գլխի հետևի մասով հարվածել է բետոնե ախոռին: Տղամարդն այնուհետև գնացել է տուն, որտեղ էլ ժամեր անց գլխի շրջանում ստացած վնասվածքների պատճառով մահացել է:

23-ամյա երիտասարդը տարվել է ոստիկանության Գորիսի բաժին և բացատրական աշխատանքի շնորհիվ խոստովանել կատարվածն ու ներկայացրել դիմում-մեղայական: Նա ձերբակալվել է:
