Սեպտեմբերի 16-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունել է «Եկեղեցիները Մերձավոր Արևելքի խաղաղության համար» ամերիկյան կազմակերպության ներկայացուցիչներին՝ ուղեկցությամբ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Վիգեն արքեպիսկոպոս Այքազյանի, տեղեկացնում ենք Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնից։

Հյուրերն իրենց երախտագիտությունն են հայտնել Նորին Սրբությանը՝ ընդգծելով, որ եզակի հնարավորություն է ընձեռվել այցելելու առաջին քրիստոնյա երկիր։

Հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ է կատարվել արցախյան 44-օրյա պատերազմի ծանր հետևանքերին և օրերս Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած ռազմական գործողություններին: Մասնավորապես խոսվել է մարդկային և տարածքային կորուստների, զինվորականների և խաղաղ բնակիչների հանդեպ կիրառված խոշտանգումների, առ այսօր Ադրբեջանում պահվող ռազմագերիների և իրենց բնակավայրերից տեղհանված ընտանիքների մասին։ Վեհափառ Հայրապետը ներկայացրել է նաև Ադրբեջանի վերահսկողության տակ հայտնված տարածքներում հայկական հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանությանն առնչվող խնդիրները, ադրբեջանական կողմից տարբեր պատմական սրբավայրերի և հուշարձանների յուրացման և ոչնչացման փաստագրված քայլերը։

Պատվիրակությունը «Եկեղեցիները Մերձավոր Արևելքի խաղաղության համար» կազմակերպության անդամ եկեղեցիների անունից իր զորակցությունն է հայտնել Հայոց Եկեղեցուն՝ կիսելով մտահոգությունները Հայաստանի ինքնիշխան տարածքների նկատմամբ Ադրբեջանի ոտնձգությունների կապակցությամբ։

Ստեղծված բարդ իրավիճակում Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը կարևորել է միջազգային հանրության համարժեք արձագանքը և ազդու քայլերը՝ ի պատասխան Ադրբեջանի հերթական ագրեսիայի և նկրտումների։ Վեհափառ Հայրապետը վերահաստատեց, որ արժանապատիվ խաղաղությունը չի կարող հաստատվել սպառնալիքներով ու պարտադրանքներով։

Զրույցի ընթացքում կարևորվել է առկա մարտահրավերների պայմաններում համատեղ ջանքերի գործադրումը՝ ի նպաստ խաղաղության և տարածաշրջանում կայունության հաստատման։
