Պաշտոնական Անկարան հարցում է ուղարկել ԱՄՆ՝ գնելու հրթիռներ ու ռադարներ, որոնք նախատեսված են Թուրքիային պատկանող ամերիկյան F-16 կործանիչների համար: Թուրքական իշխանությունների պահանջած սարքավորումների արժեքը գերազանցում է 400 մլն ԱՄՆ դոլարը: Այս մասին հայտնել է The Wall Street Journal պարբերականը՝ հղում անելով իր աղբյուրներին:

Պարբերականը հայտնում է, որ այս գործարքը առանցքային կարող է լինել Անկարայի կողմից 40 նոր F-16 կործանիչներ գնելու հարցումը կյանքի կոչելու տեսանկյունից:
