Մենք ճանաչում ենք հայերի ցավն ու հարգում նրանց պատմությունը. Բայդենը կրկին կիրառել է Ցեղասպանություն եզրույթը

Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը ապրիլի 24-ին հանդես է եկել Հայոց ցեղասպանության 107-րդ տարելիցին նվիրված ուղերձով՝ վերահաստատելով ամերիկյան կողմի հանձնառությունը զգոն լինել ընդդեմ ատելության կործանարար ազդեցությունների և կառուցել ավելի խաղաղ աշխարհ։

«1915 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ին օսմանյան իշխանությունները Կոստանդնուպոլսում ձերբակալեցին հայ մտավորականներին ու համայնքի առաջնորդներին։ Այդպիսով սկսվեց Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը՝ 20-րդ դարի վատագույն զանգվածային կոտորածներից մեկը։ Այսօր մենք հիշում ենք մեկ ու կես միլիոն հայերին,ովքեր տեղահանվեցին, սպանվեցին կամ մահվան երթի դուրս եկան ոչնչացման արշավի ընթացքում, և սգում ենք այդքան շատ կյանքերի ողբերգական կորուստը։

Խոսելով Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին՝ մենք վերահաստատում ենք մեր խոստումը՝ զգոն լինել ընդդեմ ատելության կործանարար ազդեցության՝ իր բոլոր դրսևորումներում։ Մենք վերստին պարտավորվում ենք խոսել և դադարեցնել կոտորածները, որոնք աշխարհի վրա մնայուն սպիներ են թողնում։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, սգալով այն ամենի համար, ինչ կորցրեցինք Մեծ Եղեռնի ընթացքում, մենք պետք է կրկնապատկենք մեր ջանքերը՝ ապաքինելու և կառուցելու ավելի լավ, ավելի խաղաղ աշխարհ, որը ցանկանում ենք մեր երեխաներին։ Աշխարհ, որտեղ հարգվում են մարդու իրավունքները, որտեղ մոլեռանդության և անհանդուրժողականության չարիքներով չի նշանավորվում մեր ամենօրյա կյանքը, և որտեղ մարդիկ ամենուր ազատ են իրենց կյանքն ապրելու արժանապատիվ ու անվտանգ։

Սա նաև պահն է՝ խոսելու հայ ժողովրդի ուժի և տոկունության մասին։ Ցեղասպանությանը դիմանալուց հետո՝ հայ ժողովուրդը վճռական էր՝ կառուցելու իր համայնքն ու մշակույթը, շատ հաճախ արդեն նոր տանն ու երկրում, այդ թվում և՝ Միացյալ Նահանգներում։ Ամերիկայի հայերը Միացյալ Նահանգների կենսական մասն են։ Նրանք մեր երկիրն ավելի ուժեղ ու ավելի դինամիկ են դարձնում՝ անգամ շարունակելով իրենց հետ կրել ողբերգական հիշողությունն այն մասին, թե ինչ էին ստիպված վերապրել իրենց նախնիները։ Մենք ճանաչում ենք նրանց ցավն ու հարգում նրանց պատմությունը։

Այսօր՝ 107 տարի անց, հայ ժողովուրդը շարունակում է հարգել բոլոր հայերին, ովքեր կորսվեցին ցեղասպանության ժամանակ»։
