ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախկին փոխնախարար Արտակ Զաքարյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրել է՝

Բզկտված ԱՐՑԱԽ. վերադառնալու´ ենք:

ՄՈՇԽՄՀԱՏ, գյուղական համայնք Արցախի Հանրապետության Ասկերանի շրջանում, որը Նիկոլի և նրան կցված խունտայի շնորհիվ, ներկայումս ժամանակավորապես գտնվում է Ադրբեջանի «զինված ուժերի» վերահսկողության ներքո։
Այն նախկինում անվանվել է Քարաղբյուր, հետագայում` Մոշխմհատ։ Գյուղի անվանումը կապված է շրջակայքում եղած մոշուտների հետ։ Ըստ ավանդության՝ գյուղը հիմնելու համար հատվել են մոշուտները գյուղը հիմնել են «մոշից հատված խամի (անմշակ հողամաս)» վրա, որը տեղի բառբառով հետագայում դարձել է «Մոշխմհատ»:
Գյուղը գտնվում է Ղարաբաղի լեռնաշղթայի Իշխանասարի լեռների Փոքր Քիրս լեռնագագաթից դեպի արևելք, Կարկառ գետի աջ գետահովտում: Ստեփանակերտ քաղաքից 26 կմ հեռավորության վրա: Համայնքի հողային տարածությունը կազմում է 325,84 հա։

Մոշխմհատը հնում մտել է Մեծ Հայքի Արցախ նահանգի Խաչեն գավառի, իսկ հետագայում Ելիզավետպոլի նահանգի Շուշիի ուեզդի կազմի մեջ։ Գյուղը նախկինում կառուցված է եղել ներկայիս գյուղատեղից քիչ վերև, «Քարաղբյուր» կոչվող հանդամասում, որտեղ այժմ էլ պահպանվել են հին գյուղատեղի ավերակները։ Հետագայում, ըստ տեղացիների վկայության, բարձր հարկերից խուսափելու համար, մի գիշերվա ընթացքում բնակիչները տեղափոխվել և հիմնել են ներկա գյուղատեղը։
Գյուղի շրջակայքում պահպանվել են ՝ 9-13-րդ դարերի «Հեղինեի քույր» սրբատեղին, 13-րդ դարերի «Հեղինեի քույր» անվանմամբ և այլ խաչքարեր: 18-րդ դարի «Թուխնակալ» ապարանքը, այլ եկեղեցիների, գյուղատեղիների, խաչքարերի, 17-18-րդ դարերի գերեզմանոցների հետքերը, 19-րդ դարի ջրաղացը, 19-րդ դարի աղբյուրը, 17-18-րդ դարի կամուրջը։

Ինչպես հայտնի է Ավարայրի նահատակների անունները հավերժացնող բազմաթիվ սրբավայրեր են կառուցվել Հայոց աշխարհի տարբեր վայրերում՝ այդ թվում նաև Մոշխմահատում։ Այնտեղ է պահպանվել 5-7-րդ դարերի գավիթը, 5-7-րդ դարերի զանգակատունը, 1896 թվականի հյուրատունը, 5-7-րդ դարերի վանական խուցը, 17-18-րդ դարերի «Ղևոնդաց վանք» ջրհորը, 19-րդ դարերի տապանաքարը և այլ կառույցներ։ Ընդհանուր առմամբ գյուղում հաշվառված է 26 հուշարձան:
Գյուղի բնակչությունը 20-րդ դարասկզբի տվյալներով կազմել է 50 տուն, 1959 թվականի տվյալներով եղել է 250 բնակիչ, 1987 թվականի տվյալներով` 26 բնակիչ, 2005 թվականի մարդահամարի տվյալներով կազմում է 52 մարդ, իսկ 2010 թվականի տվյալներով կազմում է 52 մարդ, 25 տնտեսություն։
