Այն, որ Նիկոլը, ինչպես վերջին մարդասպանը, թաքցնում է զոհերի մարմինները, նրա հանցավոր ծրագրի լիակատար ապացույցն է, նա պլանավորել էր այս հանցագործությունը՝ ծանր զանգվածային սպանությունը. Մ. Մինասյան

Վերջին պատերազմի ամենամեծ ողբերգությունն այն է, թե ինչպես են Նիկոլի իշխանությունները վերաբերվում մահացածներին: Պատերազմի առաջին օրերից Աննա Հակոբյանն անձամբ էր վերահսկում զոհերի թիվը թաքցնելու գործընթացը ՝ պատասխանատվությունից խուսափելու համար: Այս մասին թելեգրամյան իր ալիքում գրել է Սուրբ Աթոռում ՀՀ նախկին դեսպան Միքայել Մինասյանը:

«Եվ Նիկոլը, և Աննա Հակոբյանը քաջ գիտակցում են, որ իրենք առաջին հերթին պետք է պատասխան տան այն տղամարդկանց կյանքի համար, ում զոհաբերել են իրենց իշխանությունը պահելու համար:

Որպեսզի հասկանանք պատերազմի զոհերի արյան վրա շաբաշի  նողկալիության աստիճանը, անհրաժեշտ է հետևել ժամանակագրությանը:

Եվ այսպես.

1. Պատերազմի ընթացքում՝  հոկտեմբերի 24-ին, Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը իր անունով երդվում էր, որ զոհերի թիվը չի գերազանցում 2000-ը,

2. 2020 թ. նոյեմբերի 14-ին ես հրապարակեցի զոհերի թիվը, որը հաղորդվել էր Նիկոլին՝ 4750,

3. Նույն օրը Առողջապահության նախարարությունը իմ կողմից հրապարակված թիվը անվանեց «ուռճացված»,

4. Տարօրինակ զուգադիպությամբ նույն նոյեմբերի 14-ին, նույն առողջապահության նախարարությունը պաշտոնապես հայտարարեց ավելի քան 1000 մահացածի մասին: Նոյեմբերի 14-ի առավոտյան զոհերի պաշտոնական թիվը շուրջ 1300 էր,  երեկոյան այն հասավ 2317-ի,

5. Հունվարի 20-ին Տիգրան Ավինյանը խորհրդարանի ամբիոնից հայտարարեց, որ զոհերի թիվը չի գերազանցի 4000-ը,

6. Մարտի սկզբին առողջապահության նախարարությունը հայտարարեց, որ 3577 մարմին փարձաքննություն է անցել, ևս 428 մարմին հետազոտվում է,

7. Մարտի 20-ին Նիկոլը հայտարարեց, որ զոհերի թիվը 3250 է, իսկ 189 ընտանիքներ սպասում են ԴՆԹ թեստի պատասխաններին,

8. Նիկոլը ապրիլի 14-ին ասեց, որ հայկական կողմն ունեցել է «4000 զոհ + - 50»:

Պատերազմի ավարտից անցել է 7 ամիս: Այս 7 ամիսների ընթացքում իշխանությունները թաքցնում են սպանվածների, վիրավորների, անհայտ կորածների և գերիների թիվը: Նրանց թաքցնում են Աբովյանի տուբերկուլյոզի կենտրոնի նկուղներում, որտեղ մահացածների մարմինները ցրված են հատակին: Թաքցնում են դրանք սառնարանային բեռնատարներում: Թաքցնում են նրանց Երևանի հարակից քաղաքների մի քանի այլ դիահերձարաններում: Սա ձեզ որևէ բան չի՞ հիշեցնում:  Ի վերջո, միայն մարդասպանին է հարկավոր թաքցնել իր զոհի մարմինը:
