Գյուղերի, դաշտերի, ճանապարհների, մարդկանց ու անասունների շնչի վրա ծանրանում է ամռան երաշտի, աշնան անբերրիության, ձմռան անփողության ու գարնան անհեռանկարայնության թանձրացող մաղձը: Քաղաքների լուսաբացների ու իրիկունների սառը լույսի մեջ սարսռելիորեն ահռելի ու անտեր՝ վեր են հառնում տարիներ առաջ մեռած մեծ երկրի մեռած գործարանների ուրվականները:
Անցյալի բետոնակուռ ու մետաղաձույլ ուրվականների, չքավորության գույն առած կվարտալների ստորոտներում՝ գժանոցի բակում մտահոգ զբոսնող գժերի նման, հածում են զրկանքի համազգեստով մարդ արարածները: Այդ ուրվական-քաղաքների ուրվական բնակիչները ապրում են՝ որպես ուրվական-քաղաքացիները արդեն գոյություն չունեցող մի երկրի, եւ չեն ուզում հավատալ այդ երկրի չգոյությանը: Չեն հավատում, սպասում են հրաշքի եւ հավատում են, թե այդ չեղած երկրի՝ անհոսանք, անհումք, անփող, անշուկա թողած ավերակները մի օր կաշխատեն:

Եվ ամեն մի քաղաքականացված ստահակ, ասպարեզ գալով, իր պարտքն է համարում նյարդերի կծիկ դարձած այս մարդկանց հոգին տակնուվրա անել, ամեն անգամ խաբելով, թե հնարավոր է․․․ Մարդիկ հավատում են: Հետո դադարում են հավատալ: Հետո էլի հավատում են: Հետո դադարում են հավատալ… Այսպես՝ մի կողմից մեռնում են, մյուս կողմից՝ քոչում են ընտանիքներով:
Իսկ լածիրակների նորանոր ու նորածիլ բանդաներ, որ այս երկրում կուսակցություններ են կոչվում, շարունակում են սնուցողին ու հարազատին կորցնելուց գլուխը կորցրած մարդկանց հոգին պղտորել:
Այդ երկրի իշխողները, աճյուններ պղծելով, վերաթաղումները վերածել են ազգային-պետական ամենամյա ծեսի: Վերաթաղումների ծեսը այդ երկրում այնպիսի հեթանոս թափ է առել, որ վերաթաղողներին՝ հետը զոհ մատուցելու նման, գնդակահարում ու թաղում են հին մեռելների նոր գերեզմանների կողքին:
Այդ երկրում իրիկունները հեռուստացույց են նայում, թքում են էկրանին, բայց չեն անջատում, որովհետեւ հաջորդ պահին դատավարություն են ցուցադրելու, բացառված չէ՝ նաեւ թարմ սպանություն: Այդ երկիրը մի անգամ ճակատամարտ է շահել եւ անսովորությունից շահած ճակատամարտը շփոթել է հաղթանակի հետ ու, բնականաբար, չգիտի ինչպես վարվել դրա հետ: Այդ երկիրը իր հաղթական բանակը զրկել է զորապետներից, գնդակահարել ու բանտարկել է, եւ էլի արյուն է ուզում, որովհետեւ ծարավը շփոթել է քաղցի զգացողության հետ: Այդ երկրի բանակը պահում է մի հողակտոր, որի վրա ավելի քիչ բնակիչ է մնացել, քան հողը պահող զորքի թիվն է: Այդ երկիրը իրեն զրկում է վաղվա բանակից, որովհետեւ ինքն իրեն զրկում է սերունդը շարունակելու ընդունակ բնակչությունից: Այդ երկրում ոչ թե ծնողներն են պահում երեխաներին, այլ դեռահաս աղջիկներն են մի կերպ պահում ծնողներին, քույրերին ու եղբայրներին, իսկ տղաները խաղաղ զորանոցներում զոհվում են նույն չափով, որքան ռազմաճակատում՝ պատերազմի տարիներին:

Այդ երկիրը չորացնում է իր դուստրերի արգանդը, կոտրում է իր արու զավակների մեջքը, զրկում է իրեն ապագայից…
