Կորոնավիրուսի դեմ Pfizer-ի պատվաստանյութի արդյունավետությունը կարող է կախված լինել մարդու քաշից։ Ինչպես նշում է The Independent-ը, ավելորդ քաշ եւ ճարպակալում ունեցող մարդկանց համար պատվաստանյութի պաշտպանությունը քիչ է լինում:

Իտալիայում գիտնականները ուսումնասիրել են մարդկանց մոտ հակամարմինների առկայությունը՝ 21 օրվա ընդմիջումով BNT162b2-ի երկու չափաբաժին ներարկելուց հետո: Պատվաստանյութը ստացել են 23-69 տարեկան 158 կանայք եւ 90 տղամարդիկ: Պատվաստումից հետո բոլորի մոտ իմունային պատասխան է զարգացել: Սակայն գիտնականները Մարմնի զանգվածի ինդեքսի (BMI) եւ հակամարմինների առկայության միջեւ փոխկապակցվածություն են տեսել: Մարմնի ցածր քաշ ունեցող մարդիկ ավելի ուժեղ իմունային պատասխան են ունեցել: Հակամարմինների բարձր կոնցենտրացիաներ են նկատվել նաեւ երիտասարդ տղամարդկանց եւ կանանց մոտ:
