Նիկոլ, անհայրենիք ոչնչություն, կարդա սա ու տես, թե երբ ու ինչ հանգամանքներում ա Շուշին հայաթափվել ու բնակեցվել թուրքերով

1920-ի մարտի 23-ին Այսրկովկասի մարգարիտ համարվող Շուշի քաղաքը դարձավ Թուրքիայի և Ադրբեջանի բանակների կողմից կազմակերպված ցեղասպանության զոհ։ Մի քանի օրում հրո ճարակ դարձան շուրջ երկու դարերի ընթացքում շուշեցի հայերի ստեղծած համամարդկային արժեքներ, հայ ժողովրդի մշակութային ժառանգության բացառիկ գոհարներ, ճարտարապետական կոթողներ, այդ թվում շուրջ 7.000 տարաբնույթ շինություններ։ Թուրք-մուսավաթական զորքերը ոչնչացրին շուրջ 8 հազար հայ խաղաղ բնակիչների, առևանգեցին և բռնի մահմեդականցրին հազարավոր հայ երեխաների։
1921 թ. Շուշիի բնակչությունը ընդամենը 9223 մարդ էր, 1923-ին՝ 6976, իսկ 1925-ին՝ 5000: Ադրբեջանական գաղութարարները սկսեցին վարել Շուշիի թուրքացման քաղաքականություն։ 1925 թ. հունիսի 12-ին Ադրբեջանի կառավարությունը կայացրեց որոշում «Շուշիի շրջանի թուրքացումը արագացնելու մասին»։ 1925 թ. հոկտեմբերին Բաքվի իշխանությունները որոշում ընդունեց Շուշիի գավառի զարգացման մասին, որի համաձայն շրջանի տարածքում ԼՂԻՄ-ի համեմատությամբ հարկերը իջեցվեցին երկու անգամ, զարկ տրվեց գորգագործությանն ու ջուլհակագործությանը։ Արդեն 1926 թ. բյուջեով հայ բնակչության մեկ շնչին ծախսվում էր 4 ռուբլի 22 կոպեկ, իսկ թուրք բնակչության մեկ շնչին՝ 8 ռուբլի 23 կոպեկ։ Արդեն 1920-ականների վերջերին Բաքվում վստահ խոսում էին թուրքացված Շուշիի մասին։
1960-ականների կեսերին Ադրբեջանական իշխանություններն ընդունեցին որոշում Շուշիի հայոց թաղամասի ավերակաները քանդելու և ադրբեջանական վերաբնակիչների համար «անհրաժեշտ տարածք ապահովելու» մասին։ Հենց այդ տարիներին էլ սկսվեց Շուշիի պատմության մտածված խեղաթյուրումը և բնակավայրը որպես Ադրբեջանի մարգարիտ ներկայացնելը։ Տնտեսական «խեղդման» քաղաքականությամբ Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները փորձեցին հայաթափել նաև Շուշիի շրջանի հայկական գյուղերը։
1988 թվականի մայիս-սեպտեմբերին Շուշիից բռնի տեղահանվեց տեղի հայ բնակչությունը։ Իսկ արդեն 1989-90 թթ. խորհրդային ՆԳ զորքերի օգնությամբ իրականացված «Կոլցո» ահաբեկչական գործողությամբ իրենց բնակավայրերից տեղահանվեցին Մեծ Շենի, Հին Շենի, Եղցահոցի և Տասը վերստի հայերը։ Միակ գյուղը, որ մնաց անառիկ ադրբեջանական զավթիչների համար՝ Քարին Տակն էր։
