ՀՀ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը Պաշտպանության փոխնախարար է նշանակել Սուրեն Սահակյանին:  Ներկայացնում ենք Սուրեն Սահակյանի կենսագրությունը:

Կրթություն՝ 1978 թ. ավարտել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանի ֆիզիկայի ֆակուլտետը: Ֆիզիկամաթեմատիկական գիտությունների թեկնածու: Աշխատանքային գործունեություն՝ Աշխատել է Հայաստանի գիտությունների ակադեմիայի ֆիզիկական հետազոտությունների ինստիտուտում, «Լազերային տեխնիկա» գիտաարտադրական ասոցիացիայում, բարձրագույն կրթության նախարարության բաժնի վարիչի պաշտոնում:

1991թ. նշանակվել է Հայաստանի ներքին գործերի առաջին փոխնախարար

1991-1992թթ․, 1993թթ. Հայաստանի հարկային պետական տեսչության պետ

1994-1999թթ. ՌԴ-ում ՀՀ դեսպանության լիազոր նախարար և արտակարգ դեսպանորդ

1995-1999թթ. ԱՊՀ միջպետական տնտեսական կոմիտեի կոլեգիայում ՀՀ լիազոր ներկայացուցիչ
