Մաշկաբանը պարզաբանել է, որ մաշկային տարբեր ախտանշանները կարող են խոսել ծանր հիվանդությունների մասին: Այսպիսով, մաշկի կարմրությունը և գրգռվածությունը կարող են ներքին օրգանների հիվանդությունների հետևանք լինել: Էկզեման կարող է վկայել ստամոքսի կամ աղիների խնդիրների մասին:
