Բեյրութում պայթած սելիտրան, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, նավի հետ առգրավվել է ռուս Իգոր Գրեչուշկինից: Այդ մասին РИА Новости գործակալությանը հայտնել է դիվանագիտական ծառայության աղբյուրներից մեկը։ Գործակալության զրուցակցի խոսքերով ՝ Գրեչուշկինը երեկ կապ է հաստատել Կիպրոսում Ռուսաստանի հյուպատոսության հետ: «Հյուպատոսարան զանգ էր եղել»,- ասել է աղբյուրը՝ չհրապարակելով զրույցի մանրամասները: Ավելի վաղ հունական «Պրոտո թեմա» հրատարակությունը հաղորդել էր, որ Կիպրոսի անվտանգության ծառայությունները Բեյրութում տեղի ունեցած պայթյունի հետաքննության շրջանակներում սկսել են փնտրել ռուսաստանցի գործարարի: Հրապարակման համաձայն՝ 2014 թվականին լիբանանյան իշխանությունները ձերբակալել են Իգոր Գրեչուշկինին պատկանող ռուսական նավը և առգրավել 2 750 տոննա ամոնիումի նիտրատ: Բեռը տեղափոխվել է նավահանգստի պահեստ, որտեղ գտնվել է աղետից առաջ: Հիշեցնենք, որ օգոստոսի 4-ի երեկոյան Բեյրութի նավահանգստի մոտակայքում հզոր պայթյուն է տեղի ունեցել: Երկրի Ներքին գործերի նախարարությունը կարծում է, որ պատճառը եղել է 2750 տոննա ամոնիումի նիտրատի ոչ պատշաճ պահպանումը: Ավելի քան 130 մարդ մահացել է, մոտ 5 հազարը՝ վիրավորվել:
