Ոզնու փշերի ու «սննդակարգի» միֆերը

Մենք գիտենք, որ...

Ոզնիներն իրենց փշերի վրա բույն են տեղափոխում սնկեր, խնձորներ և այլ մրգեր ու պահեստավորում ձմռանը ուտելու համար:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Հարցն այն է, որ ոզնու փշերն ըստ էության նրա մազերն են և մաշկին այնքան էլ ամուր չեն կպած: Դրանք նախատեսված են միայն ինքնապաշտպանության համար և չեն կարող անգամ թեթև քաշ ունեցող բան տեղափոխել: Իսկ ձմեռվա պաշար ոզնուն պետք չէ. ձմռանը նա քուն է մտնում:

Սովորական ոզնին ոչ մեծ չափերով կաթնասուն կենդանի է։ Մարմնի երկարությունը հասնում է 20—30 սանտիմետրի, պոչը մոտ 3 սմ է, զանգվածը՝ 700—800 գրամ։ Ականջները համեմատաբար մեծ չեն (սովորաբար 3,5 սմ–ից կարճ)։ Դունչը երկարավուն է։ Կենդանու քիթը սուր է և մշտապես խոնավ։ Վերին ծնոտի վրա ունեն 20 մանր և սուր ատամներ, իսկ ստորին ծնոտի վրա՝ 16–ը։ Թաթերի վրա ունի 5 մատ՝ սուր եղունգներով։ Հետին վերջույթներն ավելի երկար են, քան առջևի վերջույթները։ Սովորական ոզնիների փշերը կարճ են, 3սմ–ից ոչ ավելի: Փշերի վերին մակերևույթը հարթ է, գունավորումը՝ փոփոխական՝ բաց գույնից մինչև գորշավուն։

Ներսից դրանք սնամեջ են՝ լցված օդով։ Փշերն աճում են այնքան արագ, որքան մազերը։ Փշերի միջև աճում են ոչ խիտ, կարճ մազեր։ Գլուխը ծածկված է կոշտ և սովորաբար մուգ գունավորմամբ մազերով։ Սովորաբար ոզնի հանդիպում է այգիներում, թփուտներով և բուսականությամբ առկա գետերի հովիտներում, երբեմն՝ հացահատիկային ցանքատարածքներում և բանջարանոցներում: Ակտիվ են գիշերը։

Ձմռանը քուն են մտնում։ Սնվում են միջատներով և մանր ողնաշարավորներով (այդ թվում՝ օձերով), նաև սատկած մանր կենդանիներով և թռչուններով։ Ոզնիները այն բացառիկ կենդանիներից են, որ անգամ կրետ և մեղու են ուտում, քանի որ սրանց թույնը նրանց վրա չի ազդում: Ոզնիները հատապտուղներ և մրգեր չեն ուտում, քանի որ նրանց օգանիզմը դրանք ուղղակի չի մարսում: Դա նույնն է, որ գայլին կերակրես կաղամբով: Իհարկե, կարելի է տեսնել, որ ոզնին փորփրել է ընկած միրգը, բայց դա նա անում է միայն մրգի ներսի որդերն ուտելու համար, իսկ միրգը չի ուտում:

Մոլորությունը, թե ոզնիները փշերի վրա հատապտուղներ են տեղափոխում, շատ հին պատմություն ունի: Առաջին հիշատակությունն արել է հին հռոմեացի գրող Պլինոս Ավագը իր «Բնական պատմություն» գրքում՝ դեռևս առաջին դարում գրելով, որ ոզնիները ծառ են բարձրանում, խնձորները գցում, փշերի վրա տեղափոխում բույնը և պահեստավորում ձմռան համար: Պարզ է, որ այս ամենը իրականությանը չի համապատասխանում: Բայց պարզ է նաև այն, որ ցանկացած երեխա հեքիաթներից, գրքերից, նկարներից և մուլտֆիլմերից գիտի, որ ոզնին խնձոր է սիրում և այն փշերի վրա է տեղափոխում:

Ոզնիները իրոք օգտակար կենդանիներ են: Ոչ մի գյուղացի իր այգում նկատած ոզնուն չի վնասում: Առաջին հերթին նրանք ոչնչացնում են այգու վնասատու միջատներին, բացի այդ, սովորաբար ոզնու առկայությունը օգնում է տարածքը օձերից մաքրելուն: Հարցն այն է, որ անգամ գյուղացիները չգիտեն, որ ոզնին միրգ չի ուտում, և նրան իրենց այգում մնալու համար փոխանակ մսի կտորներ տան, չգիտես ինչու՝ միրգ են տալիս: Արդյունքում ոզնին նեղանում և հեռանում է այդտեղից:
