Չղջիկները կո՞ւյր են. պարզվում է՝ ոչ

Մենք գիտենք, որ...

 

Թռչող մկները (չղջիկներ) տեսնում են միայն էխոլոկացիայի միջոցով, այսինքն՝ նրանք կույր են:

Իրականում այնքան էլ այդպես չէ:

Չղջիկները, ինչպես և էխոլոկացիա օգտագործող այլ կենդանիներ, ունեն սովորական տեսողություն: Էխոլոկացիան ընդամենը էվոլ յուցիայի ընթացքում զարգացած կարողություն է, որն օգնում է այդ կենդանիներին արդյունավետ որս կատարել և կողմնորոշվել վատ տեսանելիության (ասենք՝ մթություն) պայմաններում:

Ի դեպ, թռչող մուկ արտահայտությունը այնքան էլ ճիշտ չէ: Սրանք մկների ընտանիքի հետ ընդհանրություններ չունեն: Ի դեպ, նշենք նաև, որ կան թռչող աղվեսներ, թռչող շներ: Սրանք առանձին ընտանիք են և կոչվում են ձեռնաթևավորներ, այսինքն՝ թռչող կենդանիներ: Ձեռնաթևավորները հիմնականում սնվում են միջատներով, բայց կան տեսակներ, որոնք սնվում են նաև մանր թռչուններով, մողեսներով, երկկենցաղներով, ձկներով և այլն: Կան նաև խոտակերներ: Հարավային Ամերիկայում կան երեք տիպի թռչող մկներ, որոնք սնվում են թռչունների և ողնաշարավոր կենդանիների արյունը ծծելով, ինչպես, օրինակ, մոծակները: Չղջիկների մարյա բոլոր տեսակները գիշերային կենդանիներ են: Ցերեկը նրանք քնում են՝ կա՛մ գլխիվայր կախված, կա՛մ էլ ժայռաճեղքերի, տերևների մեջ թաքնված: Իրենց աչքերի շնորհիվ նրանք հասկանում են, որ գիշեր է, և դուրս են գալիս որսի: Տեսողությամբ նրանք նաև կողմնորոշվում են տարածքում, պահպանում են անհրաժեշտ հեռավորությունը գետնից, շրջանցում են մեծ արգելքները: Իհարկե, նրանց տեսողությունը լիարժեք զարգացած չէ և մթության մեջ նրանք ունակ չեն միայն դրա օգնությամբ թռչող միջատներ որսալ կամ խուսափել անսպասելի արգելքներից: Այս դեպքում էլ հենց նրանց օգնության է գալիս էխոլոկացիան:

Թռիչքի ընթացքում չղջիկը երգում է (որոշ տեսակներ դրա համար օգտագործում են քթանցքները, որոշներն էլ՝ բերանը): Այդ նպատակի համար նա օգտագործում է մարդկանց լսողության համար անընկալելի բարձր հաճախականության ուլտրաձայնային վանկերի բարդ համադրություններ: Յուրաքանչյուր չղջիկ արտաբերում է իրեն յուրահատուկ վանկերի համադրություն և կարողանում է այն տարբերել այլ թռչող մկների արձակած ձայներից: Ուլտրաձայներով կենդանիները տարբերակում են դրա տիրոջը՝ ճանաչում են միմյանց, հասկանում հիերարխիկ դերերը երամում, նաև բազմացման համար զուգընկեր գտնում: Բացի այդ, արձակած ուլտրաձայնը, հանդիպելով արգելքի, օրինակ՝ թռչող միջատի, անդրադարձվում է, որը և չղջիկի ականջը որսում է և ուղարկում ուղեղի լսողական կենտրոն, ինֆորմացիան մշակվում է, և թռչող մուկը արդեն իմանում է հավանական կերի հեռավորությունը և դիրքը: Փորձերը ցույց են տվել, որ չղջիկները ունակ են 17 մետրից տարբերել 0,4 մմ հաստությամբ լարը, որը նրանց համար կարող է թռիչքի արգելք հանդիսանալ: Այսինքն, նրանք բավականին զարգացած էխոլոկացիա ունեն:

Պետք է նշել, որ որոշ դեպքերում անգամ էխոլոկացիան չի օգնում թռչող մկանը կեր հայթայթել: Որոշ միջատներ նրանց դեմ պայքարի մեթոդներ են ստեղծել: Օրինակ, կան տեսակներ, որոնք հեռվից լսում են ուլտրաձայնը և անմիջապես հեռանում են այդ տարածքից, թիթեռների որոշ տեսակներ այս «որսորդներին» կեղծ լուսային ազդանշաններ են տալիս, այսինքն՝ ես միջատ չեմ, կամ էլ հաջողացնում են խլացնել ուլտրաձայնային անդրադարձը:
