Բա՛րև, եղբայր։ Գրում եմ այս նամակս, ցրտից խրամատի մեջ կուչ եկած և դողացող մատներով։ Ցավից սեղմվել է կոկորդս և անհնազանդ արցունքներս աղավաղում են թղթի տողերը, բայց, ես գրում եմ։

Եղբա՛յր, սիրելի՛ս, մի՞թե ես սահմանի վրա ամեն օր կյանքս վտանգում եմ, հանուն իմ ժողովրդի հանգիստ կյանքի համար, որ դու գտնվելով նրա կողքին, մատնես անտարբերության նրա ցավը։ Եղբա՛յր, ես այստեղ աղոթում եմ ազգիս համար, դու այդտեղ հայհոյո՛ւմ ես նրան։ Ես այստե՛ղ, պաշտպանում եմ ազգիս պատի՛վն ու նամո՛ւսը, դու ոտքերիդ տակ տրորո՛ւմ ես այն։ Եղբա՛յր, կատարելով իմ սուրբ պարտքը հայրենիքիս առաջ, միգուցե և մինչև առավոտ չապրեմ թշնամու թռած գնդակից , բայց դու պատրաստ ես սպանե՞լ նրա ազատությունը, անարգելով մեր ծնողների ծերությո՞ւնը, խլելով արդեն կիսաքաղց երեխաների մի կտոր հացի երազա՞նքը, հողին հավասարեցնելով մեր մայրերի հավա՞տը մեր հանդեպ, ոչնչացնելով մեր քույրերի պարծա՞նքը…

Եղբա՜յր, ոռնում եմ ցավից, խոցված գայլի նման։ Ասա՜, մի՞թե դու իմ հույսն ես, որին վեհանձել եմ անվտանգությունն իմ օջախի։ Եղբա՜յր, մի ստիպիր ինձ զենքս վայր դնել և միանալ իմ ժողովրդին, դա վտանգավոր է և թշնամին հենց դրան է սպասում։ Դո՛ւ, դո՛ւ զենքդ վայր դիր իմ և քո փոխարեն և միացի՛ր ազգիս, որի համար ես պատրաստ եմ կյանքս տալո՛ւ։ Եղբա՛յր, փրկի՛ր մեր օջախի պատիվը, որ չամաչենք նայել մարդկության աչքերի մեջ, ապացուցելով աշխարհին, որ հայը երբե՛ք չի դավաճանել իր մոր տված կաթին և իր հոր ամեն մի կաթիլ թափված քրտինքին։
