Հայաստանում տեղի է ունեցել համաշխարհային պատմության թերևս ամենաթավշյա հեղափոխությունը: Հեղափոխության հայկական մոդելը վստահաբար արժանի տեղ է գտնելու քաղաքագիտական դասագրքերում և դառնալու է մասնագետների ուսումնասիրության նյութ` որպես թավշյա, անարյուն և անցնցում հեղափոխության լավագույն փորձ: Աշխարհում հավանաբար դժվար է գտնել մեկ այլ նախադեպ, երբ տասնյակ հազարավոր մարդիկ ավելի քան 10 օր դուրս են գալիս փողոց, փակում մայրուղիներ ու հրապարակներ, պարալիզացնում պետական համակարգի գործունեությունը, և այդ ընթացքում որևէ հանցագործություն, որևէ խժդժություն ու անախորժություն տեղի չի ունենում: Սա հայ ժողովրդի խաղաղասիրության, հայ քաղաքացու իրավագիտակցության և հայ հասարակության ինքնակազմակերպման բացառիկ դրսևորում էր: Այս տեսանկյունից Հայաստանում տեղի ունեցած հեղափոխությունը սիրո հեղափոխություն էր և իր բովանդակությամբ միանշանակ արժանի էր առաջին քրիստոնյա ազգի քաղաքակրթական արժեքներին:
Երբ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը մոտ երեք շաբաթ առաջ Գյումրիից գրեթե միայնակ սկսեց քայլարշավ, տպավորություն կար, թե սա հերթական քաղաքական անհեռատես նախաձեռնությունն է, որը հաջողության, առավել ևս հեղափոխության հասնելու որևէ ելք չունի: Նիկոլի նախաձեռնած «Քայլ արա, մերժի’ր Սերժին» նախաձեռնությանը ոչ ոք լուրջ չէր վերաբերվում. ո’չ իշխանությունը, ո’չ ընդդիմությունը, ո’չ հասարակությունը, ո’չ լրագրողները և ո’չ էլ անգամ ԱԺ «Ելք» խմբակցության գործընկերները` Էդմոն Մարուքյանը, Արամ Սարգսյանն ու մյուսները: Հավանաբար Նիկոլն ինքն էր չէր պատկերացնում, որ այսքան համակիրներ կարող է ունենալ:
