Պահպանակ, բեղմնականխման պարկանման պատնեշային միջոց, որը կարելի է օգտագործել սեռական հարաբերության ընթացքում՝ հղիանալու հավանականությունը և սեռական ճանապարհով փոխանցվող վարակների, ինչպես օրինակ ՄԻԱՎ/ՁԻԱՀ-ի փոխանցումը նվազեցնելու նպատակով։ Այն անցկացնում են էրեկցիայի վիճակում գտնվող (պնդացած) առնանդամի վրա նախքան սեռական հարաբերությունը՝ խոչընդոտելով սերմնաժայթքվող սպերմայի ներթափանցումը զուգընկերոջ օրգանիզմ։ Պահպանակներն օգտագործում են նաև մինետի ընթացքում, ինչպես նաև սպերմա վերցնելու նպատակով՝ անպտղության բուժման դեպքում։ Ժամանակակից պահպանակերը հիմնականում պատրաստվում են լատեքսից, թեև որոշները պատրաստվում են նաև պոլիուրետանից, սինթեթիկ ռետինինց կամ ոչխարի աղիներից։ Գոյություն ունի նաև կանացի պահպանակ, որը հաճախ պատրաստվում է նիտրիլային ռետինից։

Որպես բեղմնականխման միջոց՝ տղամարդու պահպանակներն ունեն մի քանի առավելություններ, օրինակ՝ թանկ չեն, հեշտ կիրառելի են, չունեն շատ կողմնակի ազդեցություններ և պաշտպանում են սեռական ճանապարհով փոխանցվող վարակներից: Կիրառման ձևին լավ տիրապետելու, ինչպես նաև յուրաքանչյուր սեռական ակտի ընթացքում օգտագործելու դեպքում այն կանանց շրջանում, ում զուգընկերները ճիշտ են օգտագործում տղամարդու պահպանակը, հղիանալու ցուցանիշը տարեկան 2% է, իսկ պահպանակի տիպական օգտագործման դեպքում, ցուցանիշը կազմում է տարեկան 18%։ Պահպանակ օգտագործել են առնվազն վերջին 400 տարվա ընթացքում: 19-րդ դարից սկսած դրանք բեղմնականխման ամենատարածված միջոցներից են ողջ աշխարհում: Թեև պահպանակների օգտագործումը շատ տարածված է ներկայում, այնուամենայնիվ դրանց նկատմամբ ձևավորվել են որոշակի հակասական մոտեցումներ, հիմնականում այն հարցի շուրջ, թե ինչ տեղ պետք է ունենա պահպանակը սեռական կրթության դասընթացներում:
