«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.


«Միացյալ հայեր» նախաձեռնությունն օրերս հայտարարեց այն մասին, որ աջակցելու է ՀՀ նախկին պաշտպանության նախարարին՝ անկախ խորհրդարանական ընտրություններում նրա մասնակցություն ունենալու ձևաչափից: Վերջիններս համագործակցության հիմքում դրել են այն, որ Ս. Օհանյանը դուրս է եկել համակարգից «Մարտի 1–ի» ու «Հոկտեմբերի 27–ի» դեպքերի հետ անհամաձայնության հետ կապված: «Նա չհամաձայնվեց ավելի բարձր պաշտոնի, քանի որ չէր ուզում այդ համակարգի մասը լինել»,– ասել է նախաձեռնության անդամ, Գերագույն խորհրդի նախկին պատգամավոր Ազատ Արշակյանը: Թե ինչ կապ ունի նախկին նախարարը «Մարտի 1–ի» ու «Հոկտեմբերի 27–ի» դեպքերի հետ՝ «Փաստը» ճշտեց ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական գործիչ, «Քրիստոնեա–ժողովրդական վերածնունդ» կուսակցության նախագահ Սոս Գիմիշյանից:
«Կարծում եմ, Սեյրան Օհանյանը լիովին իրավունք ունի դուրս գալ ու իր քաղաքական հայտը ներկայացնել: Ճիշտ չէ պիտակավորել մարդկանց, ովքեր նախկինում իշխանություն են եղել ու դուրս են եկել: Բոլորն էլ նախկինում իշխանություն են եղել: Մեր երկրում դա նորմալ երևույթ է: Եթե մարդն իշխանության մեջ իրեն նորմալ է պահել, մեծ թերություններ ու հանցագործություններ իրեն թույլ չի տվել ու անհամաձայնություն է ունեցել ու դուրս եկել՝ նորմալ է, իսկ եթե նրանց հետ միասին հանցագործությամբ է զբաղվել ու հիմա նրանց է քննադատում՝ դա նորմալ չէ:

Ինչ վերաբերում է բանակի հետ կապված թերություններին, ապա դրանք կան, կան նաև հանցագործություններ: Այն, ինչ վերաբերում է բանակի ապահովմանը, ապա դրա հետ նա կապ չունի, այդ ծառայությունն առանձնացված էր թիկունքից՝ շոր, ուտելիք, զենք–զինամթերքը լրիվ առանձնացված է ու պաշտպանության նախարարներն այդ գործառույթի հետ կապ չունեն, դրանով ուղղակի նախագահն է զբաղվում:
«Մարտի 1–ի» հետ կապված բանակն ընդհանրապես կապ չունի, դրան ներքին զորքերն են մասնակցել, ու «Հոկտեմբերի 27–ի» հետ էլ նա ընդհանրապես կապ չունի: Որպես մարդ՝ Օհանյանն իրեն կարգին զինվորականի պես է պահել ու պատրաստ է եղել կյանքը զոհել հայրենիքի, երկրի ու ազգի համար»:
