Նիկոլները երբեք ժողովրդավարական ճանապարհով չեն հրաժարվի իշխանությունից: Այս մասին գրել է Արցախի ԱԺ պատգամավոր Մետաքսե Հակոբյանը։

«Բոլորն ընտրություններն են քննարկում. խորհուրդներ են տալիս, ընդդիմությանը հորդորում են, լուրջ փաստարկներ են բերում, որ պետք է վերցնել մանդատները, կան որ պահանջում են հրաժարվել մանդատներից, քանզի իրենց քվեն իշխանափոխության համար է։ Ես լուռ եմ։ Ոչինչ չեմ ուզում ասել։ Արել եմ հնարավորն ու անհնարինը՝ առանց ցուցադրելու, առանց «իմ» անելու։ Նկատելու չեմ տվել ոմանց հանկարծակի առաջացած մեծամտությունը։

Իմ դիտարկումներին, որ նիկոլները երբեք ժողովրդավարական ճանապարհով չեն հրաժարվի իշխանությունից՝ կխաբեն, կգողանան, կջարդեն ու կավերեն, բայց չեն հրաժարվի, ժպիտով պատասխան են տվել, թե հանգիստ լինեմ, ամեն ինչ վերահսկվում է, այս անգամ այլ է լինելու։ Յուրաքանչյուր նման պատասխանից հետո միայն մեկ բան եմ ցանկացել ու ասել. շատ եմ ուզում սխալ լինել։

Ցավոք, սխալ չեղա։ Ու արդեն ութ տարի դրա գինը վճարում են Հայաստանը, Արցախը և հայ ժողովուրդը։ Հիմա լուռ եմ։ Կարծիք չեմ հայտնում, չեմ մասնակցում փոխադարձ մեղադրանքներին ու դատողություններին։ Պատրաստ եմ պայքարի շարունակությանը։

Յուրաքանչյուր օր, երբ արևը դուրս է գալիս, և Աստծո կամքով ես դեռ կամ, նշանակում է՝ Աստված դեռ ծրագրեր ունի։ Իսկ քանի դեռ այդպես է, ես իրավունք չունեմ հանձնվելու, հուսահատվելու կամ հրաժարվելու իմ պարտքից։ Պայքարը դեռ ավարտված չէ։ Ավարտված չէ, քանի դեռ Հայաստանը չի վերադարձել արժանապատվության, արդարության և ազգային ինքնիշխանության ճանապարհին, իսկ ես՝ Տուն»։
