Հայկական ազգային ինքնությունն այսօր կանգնած է լուրջ մարտահրավերների առջև, որոնք պահանջում են պետության հիմքերի՝ զինանշանի, լեզվի և եկեղեցու անհապաղ պաշտպանությունը։ Այս մասին մայիսի 7-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ հայտարարեց «Լուսավոր Հայաստան» կուսակցության նախագահ Էդմոն Մարուքյանը, որը նաև գլխավորում է կուսակցության պատգամավորության թեկնածուների համամասնական ցուցակը։

Որպես քարոզարշավի խորհրդանիշ՝ նա ներկայացրել է «Վահանը», որի վրա պատկերված են հարձակումների թիրախ դարձած առանցքային արժեքները։ Մարուքյանն ընդգծել է, որ կործանարար թեզերը սկսել են ակտիվորեն սնուցվել Հայաստանի ներսից՝ նպատակ ունենալով վերանայման ենթարկել ժողովրդի անցած ամբողջ պատմական ուղին։

Ընդդիմադիր գործիչն առանձնահատուկ ուշադրություն է դարձրել հոգևոր և մշակութային ժառանգության պաշտպանությանը։ Նա նշել է, որ ինքնության դեմ պայքարը հասել է աբսուրդի, երբ դպրոցական դասագրքերում Սուրբ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի պատկերը փոխարինում են QR կոդերով։ «Եթե երեխայի ձեռքին հեռախոս չկա, նա նույնիսկ չի կարող տեսնել, թե ով է Մաշտոցը», - վրդովվել է Մարուքյանը։

Այս հիմնասյուների պաշտպանության շրջանակում նա նախագահի պաշտոնում առաջարկել է ՀԱԵ Շիրակի թեմի առաջնորդ Միքայել արքեպիսկոպոս Աջապահյանի թեկնածությունը, թեև վերջինս ընդգծել էր, որ գոհ է իր հոգևոր ծառայությունից և մտադիր չէ զբաղվել քաղաքական գործունեությամբ։

Էդմոն Մարուքյանը շեշտել է, որ մինչև «սուպերվարչապետական» Սահմանադրության փոփոխությունը երկրին անհրաժեշտ է այնպիսի հոգևոր հեղինակություն ունեցող առաջնորդ, որը կկարողանա համախմբել ազգը՝ ի տարբերություն նեղ կուսակցական շահեր հետապնդող քաղաքական գործիչների։
