Հայաստանը և Եվրոպական միությունն այժմ ավելի մոտ են, քան երբևէ: Մենք լավ առաջընթաց ենք գրանցել Հայաստանի և Եվրոպայի միջև վիզաների ազատականացման հարցում: Մեր ներդրումային ծրագրի շրջանակներում արդեն իսկ նախատեսվել է 2,5 միլիարդ եվրո՝ ներդրումների հոսքն ապահովելու համար: Այս մասին ՀՀ-ԵՄ առաջին գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ ասել է Եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ուրսուլա ֆոն դեր Լայենը:

«Այս գագաթնաժողովում մենք դուրս ենք գալիս համագործակցության նոր մակարդակի, հատկապես նոր գործընկերության համատեքստում: Հայաստանն իսկապես կարճագույն ճանապարհն է Կենտրոնական Ասիայի, Կասպից ծովի և Եվրոպայի միջև: Նախկինում պատերազմների և աշխարհաքաղաքական գործոնների պատճառով այս երթուղին փակ էր, բայց հիմա դուք փոխում եք իրավիճակը՝ շնորհիվ ձեր համարձակ ընտրության և եվրոպական ցանցերին ավելի մեծ ինտեգրման:

Դրա շնորհիվ Հայաստանը կարող է դառնալ նոր առևտրային ուղիների տարածաշրջանային կենտրոն, հատկապես կրիտիկական նշանակություն ունեցող հումքի ոլորտում: Եվրոպան պատրաստ է աջակցել ձեզ ինչպես ապրանքների և հումքի փոխադրման համար անհրաժեշտ ֆիզիկական ենթակառուցվածքների հարցում, այնպես էլ տեղական էներգետիկ արտադրության և Կասպից ծովով էներգետիկ կապերի զարգացման, ինչպես նաև ձեր թվային ոլորտը եվրոպականին ինտեգրելու հարցում՝ հետագա աճի և զարգացման համար:

Եթե նայենք տարածաշրջանին՝ Ուկրաինայից մինչև Իրան, այն ամբողջությամբ ցնցված է պատերազմներից, մինչդեռ այստեղ՝ Հարավային Կովկասում, այլ պատմություն է ծավալվում: Նոր հակամարտությունների դարաշրջանում դուք բուժում եք հին վերքերը, և մենք ցանկանում ենք աջակցել ձեզ՝ ցույց տալով, որ խաղաղությունը տանում է դեպի բարգավաճում, և որ փոխկապակցվածությունը կարող է այստեղ խաղալ նույն դերը, ինչ 80 տարի առաջ ածխի և պողպատի միավորումը՝ Եվրոպական միության հիմքում: Հենց առևտրային կապերի հաստատումը հանգեցրեց նախկին թշնամիների հաշտեցմանը և տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության հաստատմանը, ինչը բարգավաճում բերեց բոլորին: Այս պատմությունը ձեզ քաջ ծանոթ է»,- ասել է Լայենը:
