Չինաստանը քննարկում է Պենտագոնի հետ կապված ընկերություններին հազվագյուտ մետաղների և մի շարք այլ նյութերի մատակարարումը սահմանափակող համակարգի ստեղծման հնարավորությունը, հաղորդում է The Wall Street Journal-ը՝ հղում անելով աղբյուրներին։

Նրանց տվյալներով՝ «ստուգված վերջնական սպառողի» համակարգը թույլ կտա պահպանել չինական իշխանությունների խոստումը՝ ԱՄՆ հազվագյուտ հողային մետաղների արտահանումը պարզեցնելու մասին և միևնույն ժամանակ համոզվել, որ նշված նյութերը չեն ուղղորդվի Պենտագոնի մատակարարներին։

Հոկտեմբերի 9-ին Չինաստանի առևտրի նախարարությունը հրապարակել է երկու փաստաթուղթ՝ հազվագյուտ հողային մետաղների և դրանց հետ կապված տեխնոլոգիաների արտահանման նկատմամբ վերահսկողության խստացման մասին։ Հոկտեմբերի 10-ին ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտարարել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները նոյեմբերի 1-ից կամ ավելի վաղ լրացուցիչ 100 տոկոսանոց մաքսատուրքեր կսահմանի Չինաստանից ներմուծվող արտադրանքի նկատմամբ, ինչպես նաև արտահանման վերահսկողության միջոցներ՝ ծրագրային ապահովման նկատմամբ։ Բացի այդ, նա նախազգուշացրել է Չինաստանի այլ ապրանքների մատակարարման հնարավոր սահմանափակումների մասին, առաջին հերթին՝ ավիատեխնիկայի պահեստամասերի։
