With Unibank’s Sponsorship Armenia Hosts Open Rock Climbing Championship

Unibank continues to promote a healthy lifestyle and support the development of sports in Armenia. Under the bank’s sponsorship, an open rock climbing championship was held in Armenia, featuring top athletes from various age categories.

“Unibank’s slogan is ‘Banking and More,’ which reflects our commitment to supporting different sectors. Sports, especially Olympic disciplines, have always been at the center of our attention,” said Mesrop Hakobyan, Chairman of the Management Board of Unibank.

The championship was organized by the Armenian Mountaineering Club and the "Boulderland" rock climbing gym.

“This year, Unibank is our sponsor, and we are delighted about this collaboration. Financial support is extremely important for the development and promotion of this sport. The bank’s sponsorship allows us to provide prizes and execute the event at a high organizational level,” emphasized Zaven Arakelyan, founder of the Boulderland gym.

Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, co-founder and president of the Armenian Mountaineering Club, added that the partnership with Unibank is long-term: “Unibank’s support is a major boost for the development of rock climbing. Until now, we organized competitions with our own resources and without financial support. Now we are confident that our collaboration with Unibank will help make rock climbing in Armenia as recognized as our traditional sports, such as wrestling or weightlifting.”

In the adult category, Unibank awarded the winners with premium-class cards with cash prizes. “We congratulate the champions and wish them continued success on the international stage. Our support for sports and athletes will remain ongoing,” stated Mesrop Hakobyan.
